Antonov An-2 very well made for a freeware

A new freeware is on flightsim.to. An Antonov An-2 Antonov An-2 for Microsoft Flight Simulator | MSFS

I tested it, it is a verry good surprise. The man who created it as done an amazing job. Different liveries, almost all switches work. All gauges work!

Some fun details: fan and wiper work. The engine sounds are verry good. The flight model seems good because the performances (cruise speed, climb speed, RPM, …) are close to info I found on internet. Currently it is WIP, Version 0.2, some things can be improve: oil temp for example, ADF have some bugs…

But overall I am impressed by the quality.

it might be ok - the nice thing about freeware is that there’s no downside to giving them a try…usually

Looks impressive. Is it a port from FSX or new work?

New work “MSFS native model”

Textures are average at best. 3D moddeling is of very low poly count.
Didn’t test it in deep. But it feels heavy and a little too stable.

But sure it worth a try.

I mean, it looks worse than many FSX aircraft. This is why I still don’t think “FSX port or not” is super meaningful on its own.

Still, I’m all for more freeware developers having a go. It has potential, and if he’s updating it every Friday it bears watching.

There’s another one in development somewhere, may not have been released yet.
Search UTube for an MSFS AN2-T Test Flight video dated Sept 18, 2021.
Looks & sounds pretty good.
Attributed to Tim Conrad, with conversion from FSX, by Zany.
Hopefully it is Tim ‘Piglet’ Conrad, because it will be good.

AT Simulations was working on one

Looks like it is still WIP & I don’t think it’s the Tim Conrad one, going by the Reg # in his video & comparing it to AT WIP shots.
So there could be 3 to choose from eventually.
