Any performance experience with the 5800X3D Chip coming from ryzen 3000

I am on a 3600 currently, have been for 3 years. I am seriously considering upgrading to a 5800x3d, as Ive seen its performance boosts for MSFS be very well acknowledged. I am running a 3070ti as well, and atm my performance at anything more than a small airport with addons/live traffic is not ok, being under 30fps. Any people have experience upgrading from ryzen 3000 to the ryzen 5800x3d and what type of performance and experiences they now have? Thanks!

There is a specific thread about this chip´s performance.

There I posted this, coming from a 3900x. Hope its helpful to you.

Best regards.

Edit: even if its a bit old now, with greatly improved performance after several more sim updates, I guess for comparison purposes with the 3900x, is still valid.

Thank you, this was very helpful!

Few weeks ago upgrading my PC Ryzen 7 3700x to Ryzen 7 5800x3d both case with same CGU RTX3070Ti
Improved performances reaching 55-60 FPS on screen and 50-55 FPS in VR
same flight same conditions etc…
Caution: Ryzen 7 5800x3D needs a performant cooler ( Noctua NH-D15S)

Hello, we have a similar system. I went from 3600 to 5800X3D with an RTX 3070. With a bios and chipset driver update, the performance increase was huge for me. Although, the 3600 was ok, it was starting to struggle with aircraft like the Fenix A320 with fps going down to 22 at Maccosim EGCC with full AI traffic. Since installing this CPU, my bottleneck is now the 3070 with fps in the same scenario around 45fps, everything is much smoother too.

BIOS and chipset update is a MUST, I’d do the bios before installing the 5800X3D, then chipset once installed so the installer knows which CPU is present. My advice is to get one, you should not be disappointed. :+1:

I have a 5800X, 3090 Ti, and DDR4-3600/CAS14 which is pretty capable.
I’m still going to upgrade to the 5800X3D soon.

5800x3d Rtx4080 3600cl16, very nice combo
80fps 4k airliner large airports, high settings, cloud ultra, taa 100
the cpu deserves a decent gpu
