Uplugging the controller doesn’t work for me; I have a saitek evo force.
it gets really embarassing when trying to fight against the aircraft A/P in flight. Feels like the B737Max MCAS.
Yeah, I fixed my problems weeks ago by doing just that.get rid of all flight control s on other keys.
But there is s new random bug I am getting today.About 20% of takeoff s the plane banksto the right when hitting the AP button. Seems it happens when below 1500. It isn’t input related. Weird bug!
Solution: wait until above 1500
Same here. Vanilla 320 latest patch only.
Plane will nosedive and over bank to the left when AP is enabled. Flight director seems to be stuck to the left and after the bank has settled down, the plane won’t fly my flight plan or heading, just direct ahead. I’m not flying a 2 hour route by hand.
I’ve also noticed the AI Copilot control cannot activate AP. You can hear him trying but I can just hear the disengage clicks on a loop.
Here is a screenie showing the FD stuck, and my track no where near my flight plan even though AP is on and NAV is activate. I WAS using FBW at the time of the image but this does happen on vanilla.
For those of you banking right, I suspect the issue is the same but your flight director has frozen to the right instead. Looks like the plane has calibrated level flight way off to one side, so a small bank is actually huge.
This is so broken it’s essentially made the A320 unusable unless you’re flying circuits. I had to fly my short hop entirely by hand and land visual. I’d argue that this requires a hot fix.
I’m also having the hard bank to the Right instead of the Left, like you are. I think I’m going to try and reset my key mappings for my HOTAS to default. I couldn’t move around the cockpit with the arrow keys until I reset the keyboard mappings to default. Makes sense that it might be having problems throughout the game for controllers.
Yes, I was thinking the same thing! I feel like calling it the A320 MAX!
So I just did yet another practice flight using the default A320neo (with a custom livery). I deleted and re-assigned my joystick key bindings as mentioned above. This time, after I took off (cold and dark from the gate), I set the AP when I reached my cruising altitude. This time, instead of a left hand turn, it made a right hand turn, veered off the flight path a bit, then turned straight and level, but still continued off the flight path. I did try starting from the runway, but even that didn’t seem to work right either.
Someone else above mentioned fooling with the FLT/CTL switches, but I have no idea what that means and where those switches are. However, at this point, I find it hard to believe those would have an effect though.
Simply put, I’m running out of options and it looks like until the next patch update is released, I won’t be flying the A320 (or the sim altogether). This really sucks, because when I finally had a good bit of free time to catch up on flying, the update absolutely screws everything up with my favorite airliner. As someone who hasn’t complained about much since release and whose spent many hours in the sim without any bugs so far, this one is the absolute worst I could imagine. For me, the A320neo is virtually unflyable and I’m not even gonna attempt to hand fly a 3+ hour flight (or any flight for that matter). At the moment, there is no realism to the sim and I’m so ashamed and frustrated by this.
Just tried that with my Logitech joystick and unfortunately, no luck. Let me know if it works for you though.
How do they not catch this stuff in QA?
Couldn’t agree more not to mention it’s illegal in the US to hand fly at cruise!
You have to QA to catch stuff in QA
Yeah, considering this is at least the third update that’s been pushed with major, glaring issues.
It’s particularly frustrating because many, many players in the community would voluntarily opt-in to beta test these updates so stuff like this would stop happening. Why setting this up hasn’t become the top priority really baffles me.
I’m having same issues I think on all aircrafts. But so far I only tried A320 and 747. They both flying banked to the right when autopilot is following straight line on a flight plan. Also 747s autopilot having a hard time to stay at one altitude it jumps up and down. When trying to keep 43000.
I’m testing while writing this comment, so edit#3. In VNAV( Vertical Navigation) mode which were set to 43000 in FMC for this part of the plan 747 would jump up to over 45000 than dive than rev engines and climb than dive again… on and on. When altitude finally stabilized after setting FLCH (Flight Level Change) mode it keeps holding 500ft more than set altitude. Also speed setting window shows mach numbers only in both modes MACH or KNOTS. Disappointing
Because screw the customer. They got the $60 or more if you got a higher version. Why should they satisfy us when the goal was accomplished.
I honestly haven’t flown the 787 in a while. I gave up on the 787 when I couldn’t land the thing without it either nosediving into the runway or floating terribly. Unless that’s been fixed since, maybe I’ll give the 787 another try until the A320 gets fixed.
Regardless if that bug is simply related to the AP or it’s also control related.
This is a bug that simply makes this sim unplayable.
I’m not willing to do all my flights VFR and by hand.
The AP was always working and reliable in former MS simulators and as far as I know also in P3D and X-plane.
It’s simply a basic function that has to work properly.
A quick fix is needed. And with quick it’s not meant with the next regular update.
IMO it’s still quite the floater but much much better than previously.
Good to know. I’ll have to give it another shot until the A320 gets fixed…
Definitely both unplayable and unflyable at the moment. Hand flying is not even an option nor is it remotely realistic or reasonable. If that’s the only work around, it’s gonna be a hard no from me. Hand flying is for GA aircraft and flight training, not flying commercial airliners and jets on medium-long haul flights, heck even short hauls.
And I totally agree, there needs to be some sort of quick hot fix ASAP, not in a couple of weeks for the next update. I’m really starting to wonder if any other aircraft in the sim has been this unflyable since launch.
Pour moi c est pareil AP engager virage a gauche mais si je met le plan de vol dans le menu piste et star demarrage sur la piste le FD suit bien le plan de vol
