Since using an OLED widescreen game monitor, I find the regular vr goggles pretty dull. OLED is freaking awesome. If you don’t have an oled screen, do consider buying one. That being said, I’m interested to know if anyone has experience with an oled vr headset.
Look up the Meganex Superlight 8K, that thing is looking to be amazing with micro OLED panels, launching early next year. Not cheap though!
Another option with micro OLED is the bigscreen beyond, but it has quite some issues, especially with glare.
The PSVR2 has regular OLED but I can’t recommend it due to its outdated Fresnel lenses, and is supposed to have a lot of mura.

What was the other VR headset that launched earlier this year after Big Screen? I’m surprised it’s not being mentioned more. I dropped out for a bit and figured it would be taking over by now.
Somnium VR1 maybe? It’s really good but not OLED.
VR seems bugged a lot in MSFS2024, probably better to stick with MSFS2020 for a couple of months.
You may consider Pimax Crystal Super OLED, but it doesn’t exist yet and will be rather expensive.

I am using the Bigscreen Beyond with Valve Index controllers but waiting for proper support like we have in 2020. With my system I am getting less performance with 2024 that 2020. Until I see that we have proper VR controller support will not be spending any more time in 2024.

That’s it. I hear it’s amazing but haven’t seen much mention around here.
They are making a QLED version first and later OLED. And they will even be swappable “optical engines”.
Can’t recommend Pimax though.
There are no good options currently that are reasonably priced and sold as a full kit.
The bigscreen beyond might be the best option right now if you already have Valve basestations and controllers, or, i suppose if you don’t mind investing in all the required hardware from zero.
