Is there any way to eliminate the big gauges in exterior wiev?

Go to the Options screen, then Assistance Options. Set the “External HUD” setting to either “Minimal” or “Off”.
If you have trouble finding this setting, please let me know and I’ll grab a screenshot for you.

I am unable to find “External HUD”.

Would love to see an option to be able to toggle this with a keybind in a future sim update. Sometimes I like to see the HUD in external view, as it can be quite useful, but I usually have it off, as it makes for better screenshots
For screenshots you can much better use the drone cam (Ins)
True, and that’s what I do most of the time. However, sometimes it’s nice to catch a spur of the moment screenshot while in chase cam view. Having to go to drone mode is very cumbersome, the moment is gone, the camera needs to be repositioned and I don’t have full control of the aircraft (unless I press C) which means my Xbox controller becomes a flight controller until press C again…I just think a HUD toggle key would be very useful.
