I’ve just changed over from xbox to PC for FS, windows 11 Home version.
I have a NAS on my network where i want to dump screenshots and videos from FS so i can edit them on my laptop etc.
Trouble is I can’t see the NAS on my network in Windows - i have turned on network discovery, file & printer sharing but no good.
The NAS is visible from my MAC laptop and Windows7 pc i dont use much anymore but not Win 11
Any tips??
I am (guessing) that your nas is using SMB 1.0 which is turned off in Windows 10/11.
Link to SMB enabling on Windows 11;
I hope that helps.
Thanks for the link but that stuff just went way over my head i’m afraid. My days of windows networking were back in windows 7 & XP
It isn’t networking, it’s just enabling a service…
If you are on Discord and want to share your screen I can walk you through it.

Thanks for the tip, using SMB as a search i found how to do it from control panel and regedit - SMB is turned on but makes no difference at all.

Did you reboot after enabling?

Do you know the IP Address of your SAN?
If so, click on start and put \ip.address.of.san and hit enter, see what happens.
Yes rebooted
I can ping the NAS from command prompt
I tried connecting and it replied something like “failed to authenticate”
Can provide the NAS model/name?
you can also map a network drive on you PC.
Ensure the necessary details IP address and credentials (if any) are correct.
@skypilotYTS suggestion is worth a recheck.
Have a blessed evening.
Thanks
its a Drobo 5N NAS
I can’t map it because i can’t connect to it, i can ping it but thats all

Almost sounds like a permissions issue.
