I was looking for a more inmersed experienced and I was reading about buttkicker. Did anybody try it? Does it well represents the vibrations of the plane (tarmac, turbulence, landings) or is just a bass booster that generates vibration?
its just a bass booster but generates nice vibration.
Not worth it to me. Had one for 5 years. Quit using it after 6 months. Becomes annoying very quickly
Wouldn’t be without it, attached to my motion platform and with VR.
It’s the little things that it does that make a difference, such as feeling the throttle vibration change in your fingers when you move it and that (literally) seat of the pants feeling that there’s some engineering doing it’s thing to keep you flying.
Fantastic for immersion with simvibe and tactile feel in motion platform software.

I got three hooked up and wouldn’t fly without it. Really adds to the immersion. One is not good enough and will only give you a taste. You need additional software if you want all the effects like gear, flaps, takeoff and landing roll, and turbulence. I only use the buttkicker on the chair the other two are Aurasound AST-2B-4 Pro Bass Shaker Tactile Transducers attached to my desk. You will need amps and a sound card for each transducer. Once you get it all set up yo will see what you have been missing in the sim experience. Josh
Telling my wife, i will buy even more sim stuff will have my butt kicked. So I just will stick with that for a while. Just cost me a couple of flowers once in a while.
I couldn’t justify the price of a brand name Buttkicker, so I made my own using some tactile transducers, a $15 amp off of Amazon and SimShaker software. Now that I have it, flying without it just seems “empty”.
Similar experience here.
Have one attached to the floor of our home cockpit running xp11 and it’s well worth it. flying without it on my single screen desk setup for MFS feels empty in comparison
I’ve been using one for years in my racing rig (may add more in the future) and I’ll have to say it adds substantial immersion. Haven’t tried it with MSFS yet but I’m not convinced about it.
It’s one thing to have your entire system (bucket chair, metal frame, wheel, gears etc) vibrate variably for 20-30 minutes of intense racing, especially when you’re going over curbs and you ask for that vibration feedback because it helps you find the limits of the car and perform better. And it’s a different thing to be for a couple of hours in a Cessna with a steady vibration which certainly adds to immersion but I’m not sure about the rest.
This means that it’d be a fantastic idea to add buttkickers to your MSFS configuration, but personally I wouldn’t spend a fortune in them. Just the basic stuff.
I really wish there was a company that made a 3-axis motion seat for simmers. I know there are some out there but they are prohibitively expensive and out of reach for 90% of simmers, and probably even not supported by addon makers.
Tricky one this.
I’ve been using a BK gamer 2 for a long while, but on driving sims.
Love it for driving sims. For flight sims though (where you might be flying for hours) I’m not so sure.
If I do use the BK for msfs I would probably use SimShaker for Aviators as you can tune what vibrations you want where. I think it’s a little convoluted to get it working though (in other words no youtube tutorial )
Still considering whether to do it.
I didn’t connected yet my buttkicker V2 to MSFS. The original amplifier dyed long ago and I replaced it with a car amplifier which do the job just fine.
On the Simexperience website I just saw they finally manage MSFS with Simvibe (I got a license for SimRacing).
For me it’s a no-go to play without it and Sim Racing. If it’s well managed in SimVibe it will be a very good addition to the sim. Feeling in your seat all engines vibes, gear up and down, bump when landing etc. should be very cool.
Time to setup all that, ergonomic in SimExperience can be kind of difficult
Hello,
I moved your conversation to Peripherals.
Buy her a couple more flowers and teach her to shake your chair while your flying … same thing right?
Thats a pro tip!
I have two on my sim rig, brilliant for both driving and flying - I highly recommend using them with appropriate software for event based feedback rather than just as an audio add on.
That lets you get stuff like stall judder, flap movement, gear travel and turbulence when the gear is out, turbulence bumps etc… much ether than just vibrating with the sound output.
Really immersive when paired with VR especially, so if you are into VR it’s highly recommended IMO. I wouldn’t be without it now.
