Anyone else still only 2020

I think the Asobo base aircraft are only an entry point for a new simmer.

If you really want a good and realistic simulation, you should go for a 3rd party aircraft like Pmdg or Fenix, etc.

I’ve yet to test it, but I’ve just asked the same question, but for 2020, and got a handy PDF download. I then went on to ask it for some settings for Dynamic LOD, and got a lot more stuff to test. Interesting, but will it work?…

Still happily on FS2020, it’s so smooth and stable!

I had a one-month free Game Pass subscription and decided to give ‘24 another try over the past few weeks after being away for five months. I even tested the SU3 Beta with the excellent Fenix planes, hoping at least something would feel right — but everything is still such a mess. Performance is worse than in ‘20, with no meaningful visual improvements whatsoever, apart from the ridiculous oversaturated colors that make the game look like a cartoon during the day, and the awful sepia filter at night. It’s unbelievable what they’ve done.

For me, it’s still so bad that I can’t believe some developers are even considering abandoning ‘20 to focus solely on ‘24. It’s a shame we’ll eventually be forced to migrate to this trash version just to keep things updated.

At least I didn’t spend a single penny on this release — otherwise, I’d be absolutely furious.

Swapping from 20 to 24 is like swapping from water pool to jelly pool…:exploding_head::person_facepalming:

Take screenshots of your current settings, attach them to the discussion, and ask for configuration advice. Then discuss with it what’s better and what isn’t, enable an overlay to monitor FPS and VRAM, and iterate. Within a few minutes I got settings for both PG city and bush flights. It’s not just a single PDF it provides—you need to send feedback about how the flight feels and fine-tune from there.

Ah, ok - I will try that, thanks. TBH the settings it gave me weren’t radically different to what I’d been using (pre SU16 of course), just a couple of quite small tweaks in-game, and a couple in the nVidia panel. I’ve not used any dynamic LOD tools yet, as I only found out about them a couple of days ago. Not tested anything yet as it’s sunny outside .

To date, I’ve been sceptical of AI results as I’ve seen too high a percentage of non-functioning code (ie most!) and real-world ‘facts’ that were easily refuted. Some of the settings it supplied for MSFS2020 had to have a small degree of interpretation (was it referencing an older menu version of 2020 or even 2024 perhaps?), but it certainly is an interesting idea.

Yes and it’s me. I play it since when I downloaded msfs 2020 it had more mods than msfs 2024, very simple🙂

Fenix. iFly MAX, MaddogX, Longitude, Aerosoft CRJ, and all my 2020 sceneries will work. Granted it’s a small list, but those are the birds I like to fly. Eventually the PMDG 737’s and DC6 will arrive, but those not being there now aren’t a deal breaker for me, they’ll just be icing on the cake when they do show up.

That’s really the only thing keeping me from jumping to 2024. Having a 400+GB modded MSFS 2020 build. Everything works great and hooked up on the hardware mapping side as well. I’m far too lazy to do all that hardware mapping in a new sim for now.

That’s the advantage of using a program like SPAD.Next. Your profiles migrate to the new sim, and virtually all of the LVARS/HVARS/B events/A events are unchanged as addons are moved to 2024.

I wish I had moved most/all of my mappings to SPAD instead of my hybrid in-SIM/SPAD setup. I need to come up with a migration plan, I guess.

I did that (with FSUIPC) after I lost my settings twice in MSFS. It’s worth it.

I am exclusively on 2020 but have the pgm for 2024. Oddly enough I am pretty happy with 2020 except tonight when I hooked up my mouse as the first one showed signs of wear. Besides losing a few controls in my yoke there was a shut down of all sound in the simulator. I wanted to go to 2024 but was somewhat apprehensive that the problem would spread. The other thing was GSX pro was misbehaving as well. Other than that I have been on 2020 since very early and still enjoy it.

SU3 still drops flights. Hopefully I made 3 flights today, it alas it took away the first one. In fact is was missing from the “Tab” Log book at the beginning of flight 3 when I went to look.
