Just picked one up over the weekend with the PC adapter. Also have a 7900 XTX custom water cooled GPU on the way. Felt comfortable spending less than $1500 for the entire upgrade. Just couldn’t see forking out $$$ for one of the high end setups and not have OLED screens.
I am experiencing some head tracking issues. They’re small issues that are being worked on by Sony. They said the head tracking will be tightened up with the next update. From what I gather it’s basically the same screens as in the O+ but with a higher resolution (2000x2040). The gauges, instruments, and GPS screens are much clearer so I can read them without having to lean forward.
I’ll update later next week once I have the 7900 installed.
Maybe not relevant and/or a bit off topic;
I think that Qled with local dimming is better than oled with mura, like the psvr2 is said to have. I still have a rift cv1 and the mura is pretty bad. My Vive Pro1 with amoled is much better, but its not as good as my QPro/rtx4090 with local dimming because of its higher res and hence lower SDE. Even my Q3 is better since the latest adaptive contrast option that came with the recent v69 update imho.
In any case, I hope you enjoy your new setup mate. Cheers.
I tried the Q3. Black is gray, which is a non-stater for me. I had G2 for about 5 minutes a year ago. Same lack of black in it too. . I haven’t tried any LED offerings. Considered the Pimax Crystal Light, but it really needs a 4090 to shine. I have a custom water cooler setup so I would have to spring for a water block too. I found a water blocked 7900 for $750 and the PSVR2 open box at Bestbuy for $400. I will probably spring for an over the top setup later but have to prioritize right now.
