I bought ORBX Austria Innsbruck LOWI airport months ago, but it is unuseable due to some huge ramps on the runway and taxiways.
ORBX know about this and have previously commented that it is ASOBO’s fault.
The fix, up til now, has been to manually remove the ASOBO LOWI airport folder from the Official folder. Then the ORBX LOWI works perfectly.
But since the UK World update 3 this doesn’t work any more. I remove the ASOBO version manually, and on the next sim start, the sim detects that it is missing and proptly reinstalls it. SI cannot avoid this conflict.
It’s become quite ridiculous that this hasn’t been fixed properly after months, especially as it is all paid for software.
ORBX wash their hand of it, and ASOBO have never even replied to more than one bug report files on Zendesk.
It’s one of my favourite airports, so does anyone khnow how to stop the sim reinstalling the unwanted ASOBO LOWI every time I start the sim?
Check ot the ramp in the runway! ANd there are others elsewhere, and many other graphic anomalies with both versions present - parked planes crashed into buildings and fuel tankers. Parked planes which don’t touch the ground etc etc etc
Profile / content manager delete lowi and it is fine.
Next time you start the sim the asobo airport is still NOT installed.
Works fine for me.
It does indeed (re)install after a world or perhaps other sim update. But it is an easy fix to delete it in content manager again.
As nice as more manual airports are; the more manual airports added, the more amount of airport conflicts that could occur with 3rd party airports. Asobo could create some sort of feature here to detect third party airports installs or just remember the disabled airports.
I have created a thread for this, also have this smaller inconvenience.
Are you saying that if I delete airplanes from the content manger, they won’t show up in the menu? That would be great because there’s a lot of A/C that are cr*p and not worth my time. I’d like to permanently remove every tubeliner, Cessna/Textron, jet, twin, … literally everything that I’ll never EVER fly.
I’ve been simming on-and-off for 40 years. When I first bought this sim, I repeatedly burned a hole in the sky between KMSP and KORD at 30k in a tubeliner. I was nearly bored to death. Longer runs were even worse. Tedious, repetitive sameness. Ick. Once I found the Bush League Legends, the XCub mods, and re-discovered my love of tail-draggers, I haven’t looked back. Now I’m more than 16,000 miles into a RTW trip. My goal is to touch wheels to every country in the world that could possibly be reached in an XCub. I’ve stopped in 75 countries, traveled over 16,000 miles, and logged almost 140 hours so far.
I also occasionally fly the DG-808 and the Discus 2b sailplanes.
