Anyone know where the ms2024 exe file is to create a desktop shortcut?

Anyone know where the ms2024 exe file us to create a desktop shortcut?
Also if nvidia filters can be used and how to point geforce to them?

It is in the WindowsApps folder which is in C/Program Files/WindowsApps, although you cannot access it at all, unless you use some techniques. The windowsapps folder is locked for some reason.

It depends if you use store or steam.

Regarding Exe files, my understanding that any microsoft store like ms store and xbox app, wont give you access to the exe files, they are hidden in the system and encrypted. unless you are on steam which doesnt allow hidden files and encryption on its platform.

but worry not, microsoft allows gamers to create shorcuts without the need to access the exe files. simply, go press win\Start button, open “all” menu, that lists all installed programs on your pc, then drag by mouse the icon to desktop, this is the only way microsoft allowing to create shortcuts officially.

Well I never knew that. Thank you.

Its not a bad thing, microsoft protect exe files to prevent piracy and unofficial mods. steam have strong modding community, applying hidden and encrypted files will cause major controversy, because steam always use drm for protection, so steam users do not see the need for hidden files and encryption. so in total there is different platforms for different needs and specializations. however, steam products obey to the publishers’ rulers, so if a game doesn’t allow modding as example, doing so will cause law actions from the publisher.

Easiest way I’ve found is to Select the Start Menu on the Taskbar (Bottom Left)
In the Search Bar, type 2024
From the Popup, Right Click Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
Select Pin to Taskbar

Now MSFS 2024 will be a One Click startup from the Taskbar.

On the XBox App right click the MSFS 2024 icon, click on “Manage” and you will see immediately the option “Create Desktop Shortcut”. Click on it and you are done.
Is it any way easier than that?

Thankyou. And do Nvidia filters work USING THE NVIDIA APP in 2024?

I have not been able to access them yet so I’m thinking about uninstalling the nVidia App and going back to trying Reshade.

Reshade worked well on FS20, but my FS24 experience has been so smooth and problem-free thus far that I don’t really want to mess with anything right now.
Visually, the sim looks really good as well. I know Reshade can improve it, but I’m not feeling any urgency.

Yes im thinking of uninstalling Nvidia App. I asked on zNvidia forum but no answers.

Same here. No response from nVidia or other users.

I have MSFS2024 installed via XboX app on PC, bought from MS store.

Open XboX app on PC
Hover mouse over MSFS2024
Rightclick mouse
Click MANAGE
Choose Create Desktop Shortcut

Thats it…

My reason for wanting to locate the exe fileis to exclude it from antivirus scans.

For me, this created a shortcut that is not working…
So I always need to start MSFS2024 from the Xbox application.
Note sure why… it was working before

Try deleting the shortcut and recreating a new one the same way.

Anyone know how to add it to the Pimax list of games so I can start it with the settings that I want without using Common all the time? I thought this was hyped for pimax and it won’t even detect it. Wtf.

Thanks so much. Been quite a while since I did that and totally forgot about that method
