Anyone running LG CX 48" Monitor with FS2020?

Looking at this monitor, moving away from my 38WK95C Ultrawide Curved.

Thoughts? I know the CX is bigger, not convinced it is a better experience.

Search for Monitor thread, lots of comments on them there. Check AMZN for comments from people who have purchased one and see how they like it. Every single LG product we ever purchased or got, quit after 90 days. That goes for phones, and other items. We never let LG into house, bad karma.

I have the LG C9 55". It works great for me in 4K. My 2080Ti is driving it just fine in 90% Ultra settings.

Now because the 48" has (I think) 91ppi, compared to my 81ppi, it could be ideal (pixels per inch) for this sim.

To have three CX 48"'s in 4K would be awesome sauce! Someday, maybe soon.

Yup, I’ve been using the CX since August and I love it. I’ve tried the ultrawides like your 38WK95C and overall I much prefer the larger 4K screens like the CX. To me, even if I have to dial down the settings a bit (and like MarkRWatney, I use a 2080Ti but run at 80% high) in order to get acceptable framerates, I think having a larger overall display is the way to go so that you can read cockpit dials and displays easily without having to zoom in.

I also use an LG 55" OLED with a separate racing sim rig, and it’s great for that too.

Ok. I’ll have a think about it. The burn-in comments in threads worry me. I use my monitor for work as well and am sitting in excel and word a lot for many hours.

Not to worry. I have used my OLED for iRacing and now MSFS (1 year) and all is well.

But, I take great care to make sure I just don’t walk away from my monitor and give it any reason for a burn-in situation. I have my screen saver active (when not in the sim), after fifteen minutes and as long as the sim is active in a flight I put the camera into drone mode so the display is always changing. The blacks are blacker than black!

If you think that you will have the same window open, (Excel, Word, etc.) for hours on end then you may want to consider a different display.

Awesome - thanks.

I just got the Alienware 55in and it is amazing with MSFS. Coming from an Ultrawide, the extra pixel height is good for being able to see your instruments and runway at the same time.

I do find the 55in a bit big for my desk, and also have discovered the AW has a feature called pixel refresh that makes the monitor go black for 5 mins every 4 hours. The LG has a similar feature but it doesn’t activate until you turn your monitor off.

As a daily work computer i am missing the curves of my ultrawide as those corners are a far way away. As a flight sim its gorgeous. So I’d say if it is a dedicated flight sim or gaming PC it’d be a good choice but if you need something multipurpose then might not be so good.

I really like the look of the Ultrawide 5k2k monitors. Currently they’re only available in 60hz but that would be a great high res solution.

Thanks! I think I’ll wait a bit. Hoping for an ultrawide 48" OLED

By the time they came out you might even be able to buy a 3080.

Im now running the 48CX for FS2020. Its nice, the vertical height means that i don’t have to run a seperate iPad for my PFD. I used TrackIR to enable me to turn my head. The screen size and brightness makes it feel really immersive. I also tried the G9. The ultrawide aspect was great but you also need something for your PFD to track up and down.
