Anyone running sim at 24GB RAM (8GBx16GB) - Mixing RAM?

Just a little question whether anyone here running the sim own a 24GB RAM instead of 16GB or 64GB. Because that means you have to run our PC with mixing RAMs and I wonder does it affects performance. I have a dual channel 8GBs (16GB in total) and want to upgrade to 32GB but that might be just too much of what I am having right now with my Sim. So is 24GB ram like so possible?

I don’t know about the sim, but I can tell you that I’ve installed mixed sticks on several laptops here at work and windows doesn’t care.

Hey. Just make sure the speeds of your ram are the same. For the rest never mind.

I made a video recently, quite short. Worth checking out.

In short for me the fps didn’t change much. But I did got rid of micro stuttering! It’s worth investing in a high speed memory.

You can and windows won’t complain. BUT there are caveats, so may be watch this short (6-7 mins) video which explains different scenereos.

Mixing ram, many times just works, but will operate at the slowest speed (if they run at different speeds).

Unless you’re talking really fast DDR5, RAM is super cheap to bother mixing. Buy matching sticks.

You could run into instability issues as it’s never recommended to mix. That and some motherboards might not play nice with RAM it doesn’t specifically support.
