Anyone using 7900XTX/XT in VR?

Anyone using these GPUs in VR, particularly Quest 2?

I understand there have been issues with performance, but a recent driver update is meant to have fixed it. But I can’t find any reliable information on performance of these GPUs, in VR, in MSFS.

I have the option of 2nd hand card, but can’t risk if the perf is not good enough. Was also considering 4090, which alot of people have, but price is offputting.

Just can’t secure any reliable information on the performance of these AMD cards in VR.

I am in the same boat but with a Reverb G2 and a Pimax Crystal in the pipeline

Thinking about upgrading my 3080 to a 4090 or a 7900 XTX…

I am using a 7900XTX with 7950X3D, Reverb G2 and am very happy with this setup. OpenXR 100%, TAA, Toolkit set to quality foveated rendering, DX12, capped at 45 FPS with RTSS. TLOD 130, OLOD 115, ambient occlusion off, Clouds high, the rest at high or ultra.
This gives me a very stable, stutterfree experience in PMDG, Fenix and with FSLTL livetraffic. At first I was disappointed but switching to AMD is a bit of a learning curve. The last drivers gave a nice boost to VR experience. At cruise level this setup brings about 60 FPS uncapped and about 50+ at heavy 3rd party airports in airliners.

Fro VR, definitley go with Nvidia. I believe AMD has been proven to be noticeably worse than Nvidia in VR performance, even taking hardware power into account.

Just save a and get the 4090. You can’t go wrong with it. If something breaks on AMD end it can sometimes take forever to fix speaking from someone that has an rx6800.

Yep. I got a 7900xtx last week as an upgrade from 6900xt.
I love it. It is an amazing gpu for vr. I play both dcs and msfs.
I can get 90fps on my g2 with all high/ultra settings and g2 res at 2160x2160.
If i bump res up a bit more to 3100x3100 i can lock fps at 45 or 60 in openxr toolkit and its totally smooth and stutter free.
I did 2 things recently. Upgraded to latest amd drivers and disabled simapp pro (winwing app) and performance has been extremely impressive.
I am extremely pleased with the amd.
