Appreciation to the Fly By Wire A32NX Team

Personally, I believe the A32NX team deserves not just a round of applause but as much support from the community as possible. Hence, I have written this appreciation dedicated to anyone and everyone who is and or has contributed towards the development of the A32NX mod.

Dear Fly By Wire Team,

Thank you for creating such a wonderful aircraft and making it freely available and open source. Your efforts are a testament to the possibilities of free software and collaboration.

Ever since beginning to use MSFS in January (I’ve been simming since 1997), I have hardly used any default aircraft, save for the Icon, 747 and the Cessna 172. Instead, I have been using the A32NX, almost exclusively. Yes, I am an Airbus person, though I began simming as a Boeing person!

Today, I decided to fly some of the stock aircraft to calibrate and test out my new throttle profiles. Safe to say, apart from the Cessna, Icon and 747, it was all largely a disaster.

When I tried the stock A320neo, it was like going to another world. Unmanageable and unrealistic and unresponsive. And what’s with so many stock aircraft refusing to settle onto the runway during the flare?

I say this as someone who’s spent some time in A320 and A330 class D simulators; the A32NX does a great job of modelling the behaviours and systems of the real aircraft, including the sound. Granted it’s not 100% there yet, but it’s pretty close.

A friend of mine is a retired training captain, rated on the 320, 330 and 340 and I recently built a PC for him and set him up for flight simulator. He says, it’s all a remarkably good simulation of the aircraft, and is also now a huge MSFS fan having gotten into simming only now for the first time in his life.

Another friend of mine is an engineer who works on the 320/30 for an airline and he, while not fascinated with flight, spent an hour checking out the hydraulics systems and others and clearly had a whale of a time.

The A32NX is not perfect but it’s the closest thing to perfect we have at this time and it’s a remarkable achievement, as is MSFS, and I think the FBW team is deserving of much appreciation from me and, I believe, the community at large.

Of course, this is entirely my opinion and some may not share it, and that’s fine. But I really want to say a big thank you to FBW and also to Asobo. While the stock aircraft leave a lot to be desired. The sim, despite its flaws, is simply amazing.

Thank you FBW and please keep up the good work. Personally, I cannot wait to see where the A32NX ends up and I’m even more excited and psyched for the release of the FBW A380.

Thank you also everyone who took the time to read this.

Bye.

I am enjoying it so much lately. It is getting better and better all the time.

I enjoy flying it As well I started out as a Caravan Kingair trimotor guy in flight simulator back during Microsoft flight simulator 2004 a century of flight then started flying the crj in fsx and now I always end up flying the airbus a320 by this team you could say I’m slowly moving up the ranks with aircraft I would love to see them do a livery pack for it like a US airlines pack and European airlines pack in the future for their aircraft

This is the only aircraft I fly. I would much prefer the A350XWB or the 787X at this level of development. Ultimately, once the third-party developers start dropping high quality study-level aircraft, the FBW A32NX will become a back burner aircraft if it doesn’t get deleted completely. Please don’t misunderstand me. I love FBW and everything they have done. And I will continue to fly it until the high-quality airliners start dropping.

I wish I could, if I select the A32NX then once the flight starts loading I get a replicable CTD (store version).

Clean out your community folder and check the FBW advice on CTDs. Eg running that .bat file from their discord server, which cleans out some other directories fixed it for me a while back.

Agreed. If only they could work for Asobo.

There’s a whole bunch of people who spent a big part of their leisure time to improve default aircraft, to actually make them enjoyable. Who came back after each update to fix their mods, to further add content.

I just think of the

DA40/62 improvement mods
the C152 project
the various versions of the DR400
the group who created and tweaked the VL-3 915is mod so extensively
The creation of a full freeware helicopter from scratch although not supported by the sim
WT with their Garmin packages
the PMS GNS mods
a huge amount of people who uploaded beautiful scenery to freeware websites

It’s all those people (and I forgot just enough of them here) who deserve a huge thank you and it’s them who deserve all appreciation, without whom this sim would have been flushed down the tube shortly after its release. They ensured its success beyond and despite all the huge problems we faced and still face.

Don’t forget the WT CJ4!

Great job. Thank you so much for dedicating your spare time to such a project. It is such a pleasure using the A32NX and observing the tremendous progress you are making in making this into the most realistic A320 Simulator. Thank you.

Pictures say more than words

Just wonderful EDDF/RWY25C via MARUN6F to EDDH/ILS05 via NOLGO4A transition… incl. autoland test… missed approach prepared HAM VOR in NAV (4000ft in FCU)…

All went as it was meant to be … correct routing, no strange arcs, constraints observed, LOC/GS capture …

Into a nice sunset … so who says we cant have both nice graphics and working aircraft. Thanks again FBW for the great work.

Even if you stated you have nothing against FBW, I really do not understand what was the goal of saying that whole message here, but anyway. I’ll ask. Do you not believe this will one day evolve into a high-quality aircraft?

Do you not think that FBW will be able to compete against other 3rd party devs? Do you not think we are high quality? Clearing up misconceptions - the A32NX aims to be the highest quality simulation of an a320 ever made. There is a lot of time and space for us to do this. While it may not be the best simulation as of now, we have a lot of work going into this aircraft, and I definitely believe we will achieve that goal in the future.

Guys don’t be ruffled by some single presumptuous comment. You have already proven the entire industry what you are capable of by bringing out a complex aircraft no one else has brought out so far. And all that with a not always ideal base sim and many SUs. Be proud.

Making assumptions for the future I even believe that a community project can even outperform any third party developer as well. Why? Simply because the community project is not subject to commercial obligations and do not have to pay developers at the rate any commercial endeavor would have to. Consequently you can go to any detail you want just because you can (without the consideration if the invest pays back in sales).

Yeah, you are right. It just seems strange to me that people feel the need to state they will stop using the airplane when no one inquired about that particular thing or was discussing that.

It is the internet. Just all different kind of characters with inexplicable motivations. Sometimes it is better not to pay attention.

I guess anyone is free to start a project on their own if they want a different aircraft or even better join you and contribute to make the existing even better.

Please keep up the positive attitude and the great work.

BTW. How would you like the community to thank the team? Donations? Appreciations? Flight Pictures? Others?
