Approach question

Hi

I created a flight plan in the A320 from EGNT to EGGD today.

Got up, FL24 and started the decent as per the FP.

What then happened was very strange. All was going very well and about 14 miles to go I lose the FP look

Is this a bug or am o doing something wrong?

You probably had a “Discontinuity” in the flight plan.
Check through your plan in the MCDU either before T/O or while airborne.
It will state that if it is there.
If a discontinuity is there, you need to remove it using the CLR button

Moved to #student-pilots:basic-gameplay-help

Ok I will try that route again. Actually I will pod it up now and take a look

So I loaded this back up. If what I am looking for. Will it tell me here

So, no discontinuity, did the nav mode fly the plane to BRI, or did you have to intervene?

I was doing all the right things and moved down form FL20 down to 4500 ft. Everything was being managed by the FD. However, this appeared so I have no idea what happened

When I saw that the FP was disrupted I had to fly it back on track. It picked up the glide slope but only when I took it there. Does this make sense

Was this the FBW A320?

No I am an Xbox user and this was a NEO A320

I can’t get it to replicate that no matter what I do!
I don’t think you did anything wrong.
IRL sometimes weird things happen as well.
My best guess is something in the planner went wrong.
Ensure you are using low or high altitude airways in the planner, and ensure you have an arrival and an approach selected in there.
If you see it happen in advance, you could delete one of the waypoints on eithe side of the missing stretch using CLR and that may join the route back together.
Otherwise, when you passed the last waypoint of the solid line, use DIR (Direct to) and select the proper next waypoint that is then displayed.

@Majorlag9496 just a small correction to avoid confusion, FL240. You add two zeros and have the altitude in feet. FL24 would be 2400 feet.

Correct terminology might sound unnecessary but correct aviation language helps a lot to understand and get what you need.

I am going to start all over and if I see anything untoward I will capture pics

Good point I will adhere to this in future

Just one other thing. I am climbing to Fl150 and suddenly without prompt, the plane does a complete 360! And then rejoins the flight path

En route now

This looks like in order

That is a bug.
It has been in quite a few posts here.
It is #11 on the attached bug report list

Ah ok that makes sense.

I wonder if this pilot had anything to do with it

So I am at 9500 feet descending and it just disappears - meaning I will fly manually

No, that’s just some simmer without enough sense/knowledge/courtesy to be there.

I’ve had the same thing happen to me. The FP was perfectly fine. I’d run the same flight again on another occasion and everything would be fine.

I just quit as my whole flight and all about it was ruined
