Count me in on that as well, so 4 people
Itâs a huge disappointment each week when you see 15 captain sim products released onto the market place.
When youâre waiting for things like the cowansim hs125 itâs frustrating
Itâs certainly not fixed. Iâm getting it on all longish flights (about 1 hour). Why do they say âfixedâ (rather than âbeing investigatedâ) just because they canât reproduce it?
This combined with the inane altitude changes etc. makes it very frustrating trying do a proper flight. The prospect of waiting another year (as mentioned by Jorg) for a possible fix to problems which have been inherent in the sim since day one is really unacceptable.
On one hand, itâs great to see 50+ products being released at once, this should be the bare minimum every week, given the 1000+ products in the backlog. I hope this will be the standard going forward.
On the other hand, though: the team really should stop one (or a few) developers basically occupying the release schedule by themselves, especially given the low quality output these developers provide. This degrades the overall notion of the marketplace and MSFS as a whole. I would still like to see a hard limit on how many products a developer can release a month. 3 / month / developer would be enough, and would stop this madness some people do on the marketplace right now. High quality developers with fewer products should be prioritized over rapid-firing low quality teams.
I donât think Captain SIM are taking up release slots or anything. Surely it doesnât work like that. If 200 things were ready for release this week Iâm sure they would release them all. I agree it can be frustrating to see though.
Huge thanks to the team that in a week we have WASM offline on XBOX, thank you, thank you!
They literally are taking up slots. Microsoft arenât allowing all 1000 items to be tested straight away. They are choosing developers each week to avoid 500 products hitting the Marketplace in one week.
As a scenery developer we have been waiting 4 months for our longest release and now have 6 products that we arenât allowed to test or release.
Jorg said they would prioritise quality. They arenât.
Remember: Donât drink and fly!
The priority is planes by priority group, then updates by priority group, then scenery by priority group.
It just happened that the end of backlog of planes was the lowest priority group, so all of Captain Sims stuff came out at once.
Letâs hope itâs the end of that then. Beyond disappointed
I have no words in my âmouthâ / ( boca ) for this screenshot
will be my desktop font,
thanks pommes L
Iâm having too many crashes to enjoy the sim today. Crashed twice loading in to Manchester to Paris in the 414 then crashed again trying to load into the Osprey. (Which i thought was getting an update today but doesnât seem to have got one).
Is there something preventing devs from adding notes to the changelogs when they update their products in the Marketplace? Iâm genuinely curious here.
Obviously a minor gripe, but its kind of irritating that weâve gotta visit each of the devs websites/discords etc individually to get these details.
Some devs indeed update the changelogs in the marketplace.
BUT:
Have a look
- Formatting is bad
I would accept something like this as a first development pass, just to have something shown when designing the UI.
And then in the third and last pass make sure it looks nice and is easy to read.
Another culprit:
This particular plane got an update today (to V2.0.1, 2023-04-14) and the changelog states it is from 2023-04-04. OK this might be because it was for 10 days laying around to get released.
But some might ask where is the changelog from 2023-04-14.
Edit:
MS planes often lacks the changelog completely
If thatâs the ânew wayâ theyâre doing it, theyâre not doing what they said they were going to.
It has been evolving. They added priority in groups just two weeks ago, priority groups roughly translating to popularity of vendor and quality, so priority 1 being the top notch developers, etc. They were mostly down to Priority 3 last week, so thus we saw all the Captain Sim stuff. Keep in mind, new submissions are tested by the developers, and then released. Meanwhile, the things in the backlog that were submitted before the new developer testing policies, they are still going by the old priority queue.
There is a huge backlog. So of course as they work through it, we are going to see batches of things that may not make people happy. But at least with priorities in categories, the things that people want to see should appear first.
Slow week.
That is quite evident w/ all the Captain Sim nonsense.
Thanks @Hester40MT !
Well, apparently my memory is total garbage since it looks like I had already belly-ached about this on that wishlist itemâŠand voted for it.
Do we see the Just Flight PA28 Arrow updates for the bundle soon?
