ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: I’m wondering if custom controller settings are saved in rolling cache. Because this morning I increased the size of my cache and then started a flight only to find that all my saved settings have been reset again. This is the second time this has happened and I just recalled that this is only the second time I’ve adjusted the cache size.

I’m wondering if the two things are related

I haven’t checked FS 2024, but in FS 2020, no. As a dev, in my opinion there is zero reason except making scenery fetching harder and slower.

Also, I change my cache size and had no issues.

No I believe the controller configs are stored on the cloud.
The very nature of the RollingCache is in the name rolling, i.e. once the capacity of the cache is reached the oldest data would be replaced with the new data. Keeping settings in there would therefore make very little sense.

The controller configuration system is very buggy right now IMO, what you are reporting is not new unfortunately. I have been having real problems with controller profiles that are shared amongst multiple aircraft causing the sim to CTD for example.

No, rolling cache is updated and over written so that would delete settings. Settings are quirky to say the least in 2024. You can also increase your rolling cache. Say you increased it and later wanted to decrease it. If they saved your settings in the cache and you decrease it you technically would delete your settings. So no they aren’t save in the cache. I’m not home right now but can look another time and let you know where if locally they are saved. My suspicion is 99.9 % they are in the cloud
