Are going planning to build a PC? Check out this resource

This is a beautiful resource for comparing the specs of most (if not all) motherboards currently available.

It won’t make your decision for you, and you need to understand the info provided (“Let’s Get Ready To GOOOOGLE!”)

But as far as pure data goes, I haven’t found anything better. Hope it helps someone.

This does really look like a great resource. I especially like that it has a photo of each model’s backplate.

As an Intel user, I feel a bit left out. Also, I might not have seen it, but does it specify how many M.2 slots and/or PCIe slots are PCIe versions 4 or 5 associations? This has been a confusion point for me with my Asus ROG Strix z790-e Gaming Wifi II: If I’m using the M.2 port 1 and a video card in the first PCIe x16 slot, does one run at PCIe v4 and the other at PCIe v5 or they both run at v4, since they share the same the same lane?

Thanks. Corsair 1200W PSU, Gigabyte 4070, two 2Tb Samsung 990 Pro M.2 drives

Those are questions that will vary by motherboard - you may need to go dig up your mobo’s manual and check. My own motherboard isn’t listed on that chart - an MSI MAG Tomahawk X870 Wifi (not the 870E). The differences between the 870 and 870E are irrelevant to me but may be for someone else, which is why one should check the manual.

In any case, my board has 4 x m.2 slots, two of which are PCIe 5.0 compatible, and two of which are PCIe 4.0 compatible. But one of those PCIe 4.0 slots shares PCI lanes with one of the PCIe card slots. Probably wouldn’t matter in practical use unless someone tried to use a really high-bandwidth card in that physical card slot like a second video card or an m.2 host/adapter card to mount more drives instead of just using SATA ports, but that just means that when I bought a new system drive and transplanted my two existing m.2 drives into the new board, I made sure to avoid that particular m.2 slot just in case.

It is there. There are tabs at the bottom for the different configs.

Go to the ‘About’ tab at the bottom.
There are spreadsheets for Intel motherboards linked there.

I was hoping they had one of the Z890. I very good resource though.
