Are pmdg 737 and A320 available in career mode on xbox?

Dear Pilots

Are pmdg 737 and A320 are available in career mode on Xbox? And is A320 v2 need additional purchase?

The PMDG 737 is not, and is not likely to become, Career compatible. The default Airbus A320neo by iniBuilds is Career compatible and is included in the base sim, so it requires no additional purchase.

Thanks ,but there is no A320 in career mode on my xbox. I already updated sim to su5

Why do you say that? We are, in fact, seriously looking at that right now. It’s not a high-priority issue, as our kind of customer isn’t very interested in the simulator’s game options, but we’ll certainly aim to support all aspects of the platform.

I say that because you have said the above or similar many times - feels like very standard “expectation setting” to me.

Also because I don’t expect PMDG to do several of the things I would think are necessary for Career mode compatibility, like add visible passenger support, adapt to a first-party wear & tear model, incorporate syncing between the EFB planner and your own avionics, or allow your avoinics to utilize the default navdata.

For example, visible passengers are a requirement of airline transport mode compatibility within Career.

Also regarding navdata - Career mode missions will occasionally utilize airports that are not in the standard AIP data (air bases, closed airports, etc.) so I cannot imagine an aircraft with outdated navdata (which PMDG currently have by default) would be compatible with Career when there’s a chance your departure and/or arrival airports don’t exist in the aircraft’s FMC.

Also after all the “complete rebuild” and “few cups of coffee” talk of the past year, I think it’s reasonable for people to lower their expectations a bit.

It won’t be in your airline company by default, you would need to purchase at least one for your company if you wish to use it in Freelance mode. For Employee mode, it is available there now provided you have the right certifications and specializations unlocked.

Ah, well, you don’t see the results of our market research now, do you?

To close this, we are looking into it, and it will most likely appear at some point. It’s all a matter of where to spend our resources on.

No, but I would presume you do - which is why you’ve said your customers aren’t interested in the mode.

Also, if you’re looking into it, then you’ve read the SDK and understand why features that you’ve already stated you’re unable to/uninterested in adding are required for Career mode.

There is tremendous value in under-promising and over-delivering, and “it will most likely appear at some point” when it seems like you haven’t actually looked at the requirements for the mode seem in opposition of that philosophy.

All that said, I own several PMDG products via the Marketplace and would love to see them come to Career - I’m just protecting my own sanity by bracing for/expecting that to never happen, regardless of what you may say.

Here’s what I’ve got under Employee with the filter set to only show me missions with the A320neo (v2).

…I already updated sim to su5

SU5 :eyes: !
er, no… we are still waiting for it, and Beta is even not released.

Slightly off-topic and in relation to this, it always surprises me that if you don’t have a Navigraph subscription, you’re stuck with the Nav data that the 737 had when it was first released on 2020 3 years ago. It would only be fair that it updated in line with the current, non-subscription Simbrief data. As it is at the moment, you are basically held to ransom with it where flying PMDG aircraft is becoming less possible without a Navigraph subscription as the difference between the aircraft AIRAC and the non-subscription Simbrief AIRAC grows

I have a Navigraph subscription so this doesn’t affect me. But a small part of the reason I have it is through feeling like I don’t have a choice if I want to fly PMDG aircraft
