Same issue… Photogrammetry of Frankfurt is overall very good in my opinion, but the missing POIs is a regression.
Shocking how they keep breaking working stuff and don’t even notice (and don’t even fix for months when we report…)
This really needs to be solved. While at daytime with photogrammetry enabled it might look “fine” (except for the melted buildings issue), as soon as you turn off Photogrammetry you are left with autogen blocks instead of handcrafted skyline buildings.
And even if you use Photogrammetry, looking at the skyline at night you can’t recognize Frankfurt, since PG skysrapers get tiny blue windows like it’s out of Cyberpunk or something.
We need the handcrafted skyline objects back in 2024 like we have them in 2020! Those handcrafted objects were the reason ORBX had to discontinue their Frankfurt Landmarks addon and now we don’t have either of both in 2024.
Have any of you installed msfs2020 in the last few days? Have the FRA POIs also disappeared in 2020? I can no longer find them and therefore can no longer run the workaround. So FRA is now finally broken ? I also don’t understand why nobody is criticising the Discovery flight. This is also completely pointless under 2024 without handmade buildings or POI,s.

From what one user here found out, it is likely due to the path being renamed in the server, but not updated in the client?! It was franckfurt before, possible corrected to frankfurt server-side but now the client can neither stream or download the content due to a wrong path.
From the findings here that seems like such an easy fix, and it is really annoying that there is no fix, no update, or not even an acknowledgement.
Good content was created by the team but now nobody can enjoy it because there seems to be nobody who has an overview of all the issues and/or nobody seems to care?!

This is not the first time handcrafted POIs vanish from the sim. The Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles used to be a custom made POI in MSFS 2020 until it was (unintendedly?) removed. I am just reporting this in case the two issues have something in common…
@Jummivana any news on this topic? Are there any way to get an answer why those POIs are gone? That’s unsatisfying for a lot of people to get no answer even not from you as you are having / own the title of a senior community manager.
No news as of yet, I checked in with it today and will update the tag accordingly as soon as I hear back!
Could it be they removed them to not conflict with the Orbx Frankfurt City Pack that is payware? I think they were both identical as long as i remember.

That would be very easy to fix. All you would have to do is change the name of the package back to “franckfurt” on the server side. I wish they had never corrected that typo… It’s just incredibly painful for anyone unfamiliar with photogrammetry to see Frankfurt without its skyline.
Still not fixed in SU4, still Frankfurt looks really bad for most 2024 users apart from those who could save the misspelled franckfurt poi folder from their 2020.
How hard could it be to fix this?
I completely agree! I can’t believe they haven’t fixed this. Frankfurt Airport is a major international hub and a must-visit city.

We are now reaching one year of this bug not only been “logged” but also a clear origin of this issue being identified.
What else is missing to have the issue resolved? At least MS could revert the change that caused it (renaming the package) until they probably fixed it, is it too much to ask for?

That looks like Photogrammetry to me, the handcrafted model looks a bit different and has more consistent colors.
Unless you have an active POI Frankfurt bundle in your Library (and the Official folder), it’s not fixed there either.
Best test is by turning off Photogrammetry and check how it looks.
