After updating to SU8, all Speed Brake Arming has been disabled. I tried assigning it to: Toggle Spoilers, Toggle Arm Spoilers, Set Auto Spoilers Arming, and Arm Auto Spoilers, and none work!
Under SU7, I had it assigned to: Set Auto Spoilers Arming, and it worked perfectly. Not After SU8 though. I’ve tried everything I know w/o any success. Anyone having the same issue or have any suggestions? I’m running the Bravo Throttle Quad & the TCA Boeing Quad. Thanks.

Have you tried resetting to the default control profile? And how do you usually arm the spoilers? Do you pull the spoiler lever to the first detent on the TCA Boeing Quad?
Yes, I tried all that. And tried reassigning all the available options relating to spoiler arming. To your 2nd question, I arm the spoilers on the Bravo Throttle Quad by assigning the function to a rocker switch on the Bravo. (pulling the lever to any detent has never worked for me. I use the Bravo rocker switch even when using the TCA throttles). Using the rocker switch has always worked fine till now.
I’d also reported two spoiler issues during the beta as bugs. One was the lever not animating when arming/disarming the spoilers and another about them not automatically deploying.
Thanks for the update. And thanks for having reported this to MS already. Given the fact that you are using different assignments than me, and still having issue arming the speed brakes proves that with SU8, the arming of the speed brakes is definitely now broken. Thanks for the info.
Speaking for the 747, the way the lever was positioned for armed vs. disarmed was incorrect from the launch of the sim. They have reversed the function, so that has been corrected.
However, there seems to be some misbehavior with the arming mechanism depending upon if you’ve moved the lever to either unarm the spoilers after takeoff, or if you’ve moved the lever to use them during flight and/or which keybinding you use.
I’ve not collated all the different reports and then tested all the iterations.
I, for instance, have the spoilers bound to an axis and I have a button for arm/disarming. I seem to have strange behavior with the lever animation when using the keybinding where the arm/disarm state isn’t reflected in the animation. If I use the mouse, it does animate.
So, in short, it’s both changed and broken depending on how you’re using them.
I would say that it’s broken because no matter what assignment related to speed brake arming you bind a button or switch to, it doesn’t work.
Even if you manually arm the speed brake with the mouse before landing(and you see the lever move into position) when you touchdown, the speed brakes do not deploy like they did before on all applicable jets prior to SU8. Regards.

PS: I remember that when SU7 came out, something similar happened, the difference was that when you binded a different speedbrake arming assignment button from the list of options, everything was back to normal and operating correctly. Not this time with SU8
At present, the only way to use the spoilers or deploy them on touchdown, is to physically move the lever back on your setup or drag the mouse back over the spoiler lever on the screen.
I think this is what I am using on my PC Xbox controller and it works for me. However it is not the same thing as arming the spoilers as you want.
As far as the spoilers not auto-deploying upon landing, I’ve also seen that reported before, but I thought it was reported before SU8 even. This is why I bound a button to Toggle Spoilers because I read that the spoilers wouldn’t deploy automatically anyway.
Hi HethrMasn, after this mess started, I tried “Toggle Spoilers” but it didn’t work.
As far as the Auto Deploy, before SU8, I had a rocker switch on my Bravo Quad assigned to “Set Auto Spoilers Arming” and it worked like a charm every time with all the MS2020 airliners. If I armed them, upon touchdown they would deploy every time.
After SU8, I’ve tried "Set Auto Spoilers Arming, I’ve tried “Toggle Arm Spoilers” I’ve tried “Arm Auto Spoilers” I tried “Toggle Spoilers” and I even tried arming the spoilers with the mouse prior to touchdown and nothing (even touch I could see the handle move into position). It’s like if the arming feature was erased from the sim after SU8.
Wait, so do spoilers work correctly if you just move the handle in the virtual cockpit? I don’t use keybinds for many things and prefer to manipulate the actual controls so I don’t see a lot of these “bugs”.
You can’t arm them with key binds? Or you can’t arm them at all?
An earlier post I read stated that the positions of the ”armed” and “retracted” states were swapped in SU8. What happens if you leave the spoilers in the retract position?
I can’t arm them at all. even if I take the mouse and move the lever to the armed position and see it go to the armed position, it doesn’t matter because when I touchdown, the spoilers never deploy now.
Like I said, the only way that I can use the spoilers now by physically moving the lever on my Bravo or with mouse on the screen which actually, has nothing to do with arming of the speed brakes.
