Around the World in 111 Flights - 23,783 Miles in the TBM 930

Recently finished my tour around the world in my favorite aircraft, the TBM 930. 111 flights total starting and ending in KCHO - Charlottesville, VA. Ended up taking about 94 hours in the sim seat. So many great flights (I’ll put asterisks by some of the more scenic and fun below), but by the far the most intense was SBFN to GOOY. At the end of the 5 hour flight, the engines shut off with 5 gallons of fuel left (maybe bugged). I thought I calculated it to the limit, but right as I was on final I had to glide the plane in from about 3K ft. Made it safe and sound and managed to get off the runway. One of the most fun moments I’ve had in gaming. Also, plenty of dark landings into unlighted runways and fields that often required instruments and just a best guess

Of course the only crash I had was into VNLK with a 60ish kt tailwind. But, I like to think it damaged the plane, I walked away, stayed out there for a while and insurance got me back into another TBM so I could continue

Here’s the plan:

Congrats! I finished my round the world with the TBM last year. I flown to much more Airports and ha a lot of additional Miles. Almost 100.000 nm, because I did a lot of sidekicks. It’s pretty funny with the TBM and I learned „flying“ and flight planing during that trip.

I have an around the world flight planned in the TBM, but haven’t started that yet. [I’m currently circumnavigating Australia and Oceania. Once that is done, I’ll circumnavigate the globe.].

Whaou…
I’ve just terminated 15 steps deliveries flights a new built TBM930 from LFBT (Tarbes Daher manufactory) to Papeete French Polynesia proceeding east way, because by the west way that’s is not possible due to distance between airports overflying Pacific Ocean
TBM930 is THE plane to do that
Flights in real time and live weather of course

I am on an similar TBM trip, starting in San Francisco, surrounding both the americas, move over to africa (very close to your route with 23knots headwind causing some fuel calculations to reach the african coadr ) my circumnavigation going north, followed the whole river nile, the rift lakes, south africa and there are now about 2000 miles missed to complete africa. Then madagascar, australia, oceania, asia, europe, the poles………
