An insider told me Asobo said they could make flightdynamics, turbulence. etc. more realistic, but they are afraid it would become too difficult for non-pilots.
So they are not going to make it more realistic and risk to lose the gameplay-people. Instead they are working on something like Dune. SMH
So please Asobo at least make it optional for people who dont want a game where anyone can land an airliner. And in case Asobo didnt hear what Pilots say: they still prefere X-Plane aerodynamics… Whats your opinion flightsimmers?
I would firmly put this in the “ridiculous” category.
Planes are only being improved as time goes.
There are assistance settings for those that don’t want to use a rudder.
It is a good idea to offer assistance options but i dont think its fair to make it easier in general to satisfy non-pilots. Its against simulator-philosophy and i guess its a big disappointment for all “as real as it gets” fans. If they cant do better, fine… but they consciously decide against improving realism. (possibly because its a lot of work and most MSFS users dont care anyway because they are gamers who just want to have some fun)
Wait for FS2024 (BTW, be glad FS2020 isn’t just a niche product for only hard core simmers)
The Wishlist is a good indicator of what the community would like to see.
Searching for:
- flight dynamics Wishlist lists a few topics, but none cover what I think you are specifically looking for.
- turbulence Wishlist shows more promise, such as this thread, one of many. It has 42 votes.
- realism Wishlist & realism physics Wishlist also brings up some topics, but many are focused on aircraft systems rather than flight dynamics.
The FEBRUARY 29TH, 2024 – DEVELOPMENT UPDATE has a summary of the Wishlist category. The top wish has 2,646 votes, the 48th: 349.
@ WHYIFLY13:
I’d suggest adding your own wishlist so folks can vote & have their say.
A developer concerned that altering an aspect of the game may alienate part of that games paying customers
Thats crazy talk! /s
I’d agree it would be a good option, but that takes more effort than it would seem I’ll wager.
They already are! This is coming to MSFS2024 in the form of the new CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) ‘bubble’ that will be simulated around players aircraft.
Nice! i hope things are going to improve
