Asobo ATR 42-600/72-600

Maybe someone can post here when it’s available checking here is easier than starting the game every hour.

It’s 02:40 here and so far not yet. Can’t wait :innocent::sunglasses:

Are they sold separately? Or as one package? Don’t know if anything has been said about it

Maybe MilViz will still come out with a ATR. There is enough room for two ATR’s in MSFS.
Not like we don’t have a few A320 or 747’s in the sim. ( Captain Sim ) :yum:

With any luck they haven’t scrapped what they had, and are bushwacking. Milviz is top notch, while Captain Sim… not so much

They havent scrapped the 80-R-72, they just put the development on hold to see what this one has which their’s may or may not have so they can focus that resorce on developing another product/plane…

If this ends up being like the CRJ or anything that falls short of the described “expert” series, then Milviz will be definently carrying on with their ATR, if not, and Hans ATR stacks up…
There are many projects that milviz are currently working on, not to mention, private contracts that would have far more priority (resource wise) than something thats going to compete with another product…

Including flight planning, filing, programming the FMC, getting clearance, taxiing etc.?

Yes, plenty of 1.5h flights to choose from. Unless you need more than 30min to do flight planning, filing, programming the FMC.

Coughs… Blackbird

I Know the flight sim world is rife with people criticising planes even down to the wrong type of rivets but at least let it get released first before you start.

The way i see it, from the pace milviz develops at (that’s fair, they get frequently distracted by their other contracts, plus they work on a tonne of projects at once which I don’t particularly like), it would have been easily another year if not two before we would have seen a release. And the lack of a good turboprop passenger aircraft in MSFS is really bad. The blacksquare king air, Caravan and the sws kodiaks were kind of filling the gap, but other than the king air, rest are slow fliers and not really airline category.

So this asobo atr, even if its not top notch but a reasonably good quality like their AN2 or the DHC4, i think many will enjoy it thoroughly. And if it’s not top notch, milviz can still publish theirs with full failure simulations, other missing bells and whistles and overall better quality if they wish to. I am sure plenty of simmers will buy the asobo atr now even if it’s not top notch and with some flaws, to scratch that turboprop itch and later buy the potential milviz atr, magestic q400/q300 and even the sws dash 7 when they come out.

I disagree. Desktop simulators can help you a lot when preparing for a type rating. You can really impress the instructors when you already know the plane inside out. Also, it makes you a lot more relaxed before your yearly recurrent sessions, because you can practice most of the scenarios and failures at home. But, the level of detail of the plane has to be sufficient of course. And if there are inaccuracies of very basic systems in the simulation it might even result in learning something wrong (of course small differences to the real world are expected and are not really a problem as long as they are not too many and you are aware of their existence). That’s why I am really hesitating on buying planes at Aerosoft level of detail. FSLABS or Fenix on the other hand are great for preparation for IRL flying.

Maybe, I can’t really tell 100%, I guess I will just check when I buy it

Only a few hours to go! ■■■■, i really dont know when i was so excited for a Plane. Last time was the FENIX about a year or so ago.

Pmdg 737 im excited for although the lack of updates has me worried :worried:

The 737 will come. Just might be a few more weeks as opposed to the month-end.

I believe the ATR was developed in co-operation with ATR themselves, plus a bunch of real-world ATR pilots. Even if the flight model is flawed externally (and I still think it’s just the promo photos distorting it), I’d expect the vast majority of systems and features to have been included.

Lack of updates? They’ve released 20+ updates or so.

Personally I’m excited with every airliner release. CRJ, PMDG, Fenix, iniBuild’s A310. And I can’t wait for this ATR too. I had that one on FSX and it was great. Canary islands and New Zealand will be my main territory for next several days :sunglasses:

yes, the Flight1 ATR you had for FSX was also developed by Hans Hartmann. So i really hope it holds up to it.
