Asobo Boeing 787-10 - Now it suddenly doesn't want anything at all

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately, you can’t say that the MSFS 2020 has ever been reliable in any way. - But the Asobo Boeing 787-10 in particular is causing me problems. I’ve had massive problems with the 787 from the very beginning (I’ve been with them since April 2023): systems (displays + engines) shutting down in the middle of the flight, etc.

But for some time now (even before SIM Update 15) I’ve had the problem that I can’t even take off. As soon as I want to take off on the globe directly on the runway, it starts: Here, too, all displays simply go out. - As soon as I touch the thrust levers. Once I have manually restarted the aircraft (i.e. cold & dark, so to speak) and want to take off, the problems continue immediately: after some time in the air, all systems simply switch off again. The engines go out, the displays also go out.

It doesn’t matter where I take off: I always have this problem, and ONLY with the Asobo Boeing 787-10. All other aircraft behave completely normally. By this I mean, for example, the Asobo Boeing 747-8 or several small aircraft. The PMDG 737-900 also behaves normally.I have already completely deleted the Asbobo Boeing 787-10 (uninstalled all content relating to the 787 and also the Premium Deluxe feature via the MSFS) - I then restarted the MSFS 2020 and reinstalled the content. Several times already.

But it doesn’t change anything. The Asobo Boeing 787-10 is and remains unusable.

  • The latest version of MSFS 2020 is installed (Steam)

Do you have any ideas? - Thanks already

As an experiment, disconnect your external controllers to see if there is some unexpected key bind that is doing something like turning off your avionics or electrical systems. This has been known to happen especially with some hardware controllers that treat buttons and switches differently.

I just started using the 787-10 and when I engage the Flight Assistant for approach and landing the plane goes into a nose dive. And when Flight Assistant is off I cant control plane when descending and landing. Do I need MSFS Deluxe for it to work properly?

Have you, as a test, started Cold & Dark and run through the standard startup procedure for the aircraft and then headed to the runway to take off?

I’m wondering if the issue here is in the runway.flt file and the aircraft isn’t being configured correctly for an on the runway start with all of the appropriate systems set correctly.

On some of the upgraded aircraft that are used in Landing Challenges, I’ve seen them load not configured correctly already running in the air for the challenge. I wonder if something similar is happening here.

Hello everyone,

Here is my answer(s) to all the questions:

  • I don’t use any AI pilots or other support options. Everything is set to maximum difficulty / realism

  • I have disconnected everything “unnecessary” (i.e. everything except the Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant) from the system. These were the following components: Yoke, headset, suspension levers, Pimax Crystal, DOF Reality P3, Buttkicker Gamer Pro & TPR Expert Rudder

  • Created and tested various profiles for the Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant: My only airplane with 4 engines is the Asobo Boeing 747-8, which runs flawlessly with the corresponding profile. My two (working) airplanes with only two engines are the PMDG Boeing 737-900 + 777-300ER. They also run flawlessly with the appropriate profile. The same applies to smaller private jets with two jet engines. - However, I have only used these for testing. I don’t normally use them.

  • When I started in April 2023 (well, I’m actually still a beginner  ) there were none of these problems. I did have massive problems with the stability of the Boeing 787 in particular right from the start… But when it was in the air and not interrupted (interrupted = jumping directly to a certain point), it was stable. - This extent of problems is pretty decent even for the MSFS 2020…

  • By the way: I used to be able to take off directly from the runway when all the systems were already up and I just had to accelerate. I still try to take off over the globe in exactly the same way today… As soon as I sit in the cockpit, all systems are on. Everything works perfectly. Only when I push the throttle forward does everything go off. As if I had switched off the kerosene supply to the engines, for example. But that’s not the case. I just accelerate, that’s all.

Thanks so far

do i need to buy premium deluxe edition for 787-10 Asobo studio? because now there is now separate 787-10 Asobo studio for 22 euros.

Welcome aboard. They now offer it separately for those who don’t wish to buy the full Premium Deluxe edition. One of my favorite default airplane models is now available to more pilots.
