Asobo Cessna 152 Cruise Performance

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
According to the POH, at standard temperature, the Cessna 152 at 8,000 ft and 2,300 RPM should have an airspeed of 94 KTAS. During a long flight (KUES DCT GIJ DCT MZZ DCT KOKK) with weather turned off so there was no effect of the wind, I wasn’t, despite endless toying with the fuel mixture and carb heat, able to get that performance. Best I could manage was 80 KTAS.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
Asobo Cessna 152

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
N/A

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every time. First saw it on short hops at lower altitudes; reproduced on a long trip with higher altitudes. In each case the performance was below the expected values published in the POH.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Load the Asobo Cessna 152.
  2. Establish a cruise altitude and RPM as documented in the POH. For example, 8,000 FT and 2300 RPM.
  3. Compare the KTAS of the sim to the KTAS in the POH.

• No after trying various altitude and power settings and at 1,525 pounds. At 8,000 feet and 2,300 RPM I saw 94 to 96 knots true airspeed.

My apologies if I am asking the obvious, but are you sure what you are reporting is TRUE airspeed, not INDICATED? As far as I know there is only an analogue C152, no GPS. If you were looking at the analogue ASI you would only see indicated airspeed, not true. Depending on temperature and pressure, 80kts IAS at 8,000ft would give you pretty much 95-ish kts TAS

A GPS isn’t needed to figure out your true airspeed.

Yes, as someone who flew several hundred hours in real life in the pre-GPS era, I know that. On some ASIs - such as included in the sim’s basic C172 - you can set the altitude and temp on the ASI and get the TAS on an inner dial. But from a quick look at the sim C152 it appears it does not have that. So one would have to calculate it externally. The reason for my comments was that I suspect the OP might not know that the analogue ASI only shows IAS while TAS is readily visible in GPS equipped aircraft .

I know.
