I may be going crazy, but ater the many CTD I get when trying to start a flight with the FBW 320NX, I tried relaxing and sight-seeing with the standard Asobo Cessna 172.
My “surprise” is that, I spawn at the runway (tried both KLAX and KLAS) and everything looks fine.
I take off ok, but after a few minutes of smooth flight, the Garmin screen turns black, and ATC (standard) is not responding (message is “electrical systems must be turned on in order to use the radio and speak to ATC”).
I did not turn anythign off, and the plane keeps flying and responding normally (but without Garmin, ATC, radios, etc.).
Apologies if that bug has been reported in another thread, but I could not find it.
Any insight is welcome.
I swear that this dis not happen yesterday, and I have not touched anything in the config.
Odd. I presume the switches were on (just off pic). I’ve definitely flown this plane about a bit since SU5 and while I tend to ignore it, it’s still there. And you need it for radio comms anyway.
But I did install the WT G1000 , is that it ?
Are you using the Airbus Thrustmaster throttles? If so, TURN OFF BOTH of the 2 engine off /on switches below the throttles BEFORE choosing to fly the172. It causes Exactly what you are experiencing. You must turn them off BEFORE you choose that plane - this “fix” won’t work AFTER you change aircraft to the 172. If you try to do this after you start flying the 172, exit the sim, turn off both those switches and start the sim again. It works a treat.
As CatapultFAE says, this problem is linked to controller settings such as the Airbus Quadrant.
If I remember correctly, I had a GA profile for single and twin-engine light aircraft, and in the same aircraft as yours " Cessna 172 " the screens went off after 5 mins, and I was pressing a switching everything trying to see if anything had an effect. I switched off the ENG 1 on the quadrant the Glass screens came back on! Weird eh!
A few operations are linked to each of the ENG 1 & 2 switches ( 3 or more) and if you delete the two below
the screens will stay on.
toggle engine 1 fuel valve
toggle engine 2 fuel valve
The introduction of the new Xbox controller settings have had a serious impact on " Control Settings "
Thanks so much, this may be the issue.
I have the Airbus Thrustmaster.
Funny thing is that avionics are on upon spawning, and get disconnected after a few minutes.
Will try that later!
(off-topic - I am happy now since I just managed to start the FBW at HECA and to complete a flight to Istambul without any major issues - beyond AP disconnecting once mid flight and ATC going nuts about my altitutude)
ATC has to be ignored most of the time now, every time I get close to land at my local airport it tells me to climb to 17000ft around 26 miles out!
I timed the Avionics and they are on when you spawn and switch off exactly 4 1/2 minutes every time
Tried again the Cessa with the two Airbus engine switches left off, and no problem with the avionics.
Thanks for the tip!
then - my engines are going off (Seminole)
I thought I had fixed this then I flew in the 172 tonight and the Avionics went off again.
Then I found that when you create a new profile for the 172, in Assigned control settings using the Airbus Quadrant it links 3 or more operations to each of the ENG 1 & 2 switches.
Tonight I deleted all the Bindings with the number 3 or 4 button/switch on the quadrant, just delete them all … and I have been flying West of Newcastle for 30 mins with no problems at all.
I am using Honeycomb alpha yoke and have the same problem
I registered my account on this forum just to say thank you to you. You absolutely saved my day.
My pleasure mate. Thanks for letting me know this helped you too. I was banging my head against the wall until I “accidentally on purpose” flicked those two switches off before selecting the C172. It was purely a guess that worked.
