As the title requests, how can I set the arrival transition altitude (FMC) in the Asobo/WT 787-10?
It’s easy to locate and adjust the departure transition in the FMC VNAV Climb page, but it is not in the VNAV Descent page where you would normally find it (either B737, B747, B777 etc)
Appreciate assistance.
You are close, on the VNAV Descent page, select Forecast, and it is there (same page where you enter or import predicted winds for descent)
Many thanks @GimbalAxis. This was really driving me nuts.
Also, can I ask if there is a spot in the 787 flight deck where I can initiate Take Off thrust? Not sure if you’re familiar with the PMDG 737-700. There is a spot ie: a screw on the MCP where you can press it and it will engage Take-Off thrust and hold it after you manually spool up to around 60% N1. I have tried pressing the side button on the 787 throttles but to no avail. Ergo, I am forced to manually set the throttles into the appropriate take off position whether derated TO thrust or not.
Many thanks.
Yes, there is a fairly large TO/GA button on the throttles - if you picture your hand on the throttle, the button is directly below the tips of your fingers on the forward side of throttle. If you hover your mouse pointer you should see the rectangle highlight blue.
(this is the same button you would press for Go Around - if you ever have to Go Around, press this TWICE for full thrust go around).
You can also bind it to a controller button, it is listed as “AUTO THROTTLE TO GA”
There is a picture on pg 24 in the 787 guide on the aircraft manuals page:
Once again @GimbalAxis …a huge “thank you” for your assistance, it is greatly appreciated!
