Yes there are workarounds
But this does not change the fact that it is a very annoying bug that needs to and will be fixed.

I get that for some it is not as annoying while for others it is so annoying and frustrating that they lose the will to test this beta or even worse, don’t use the sim until it’s fixed.

It is not a technical game-breaker, but an emotional one, just like the white spinning circle.
I don’t mind the circle at all, others report back that for them it is the biggest issue and made them stop flying.

So it is very individual and noone should consider his individual point of view to be the universal truth.

The spinning circle bug is even worse than this one for me, because it causes a stutter every time it shows up, which is EVERY MINUTE. The stutter is very noticeable when panning the view.

I was just reminding folks of the simple work around until the fix comes. I understand the frustration as I was frustrated as well. A simple work around should help reduce the frustration for those who choose to use it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yeah, this for sure is one of the less optimized betas! Hope they address it by the end of the beta period. The performance is back to bad days of Su12!

That’s probably the reason, you need to go to the relevant settings and disable it. It’s enabled by default. I think the 2 settings are in accessibility settings. Don’t remember the name of the settings right now. May be someone else can help.

I have over 300 addons in the community folder, all added to the folder manually and I get the Assists reset to “easy” each time I start the sim

I have experienced the reset only occasionally. Sometimes they reset, sometimes they didn’t. Did no reset last 4 or 5 restarts. I have done nothing to try and avoid this problem…it seems to have worked! :wink:

This is encouraging and probably a sign that it is actually an issue on the server side that can be resolved without an actual software update.

I thought it was fixed, then today when I launched the sim it was all reset to easy settings.

Maybe disabling Steam Cloud storage might do the trick for the time beeing?

Each time the beta is launched, the settings fail. I put my right values, but then again they return to EASY

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Yes, on start up the sim has all settings reverted back to “Easy” when configured to custom

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

Specifically have a “Custom” configuration that does not save after every restart, no matter how the sim is restarted.
