Assistance options get reset to default on every startup

We have been at this point on the first 2 days of the beta.
When you go back on this topic to the beginning, you will see that extensive testing by several users revealed that a community folder with little or no contact can help to reduce or even avoid this issue but it is not a single addon that is causing it.

And unfortunately for some users, even an empty folder is not preventing the reset.

For me it looks like it is a combination of multiple factors like the amount of data in the community folder and server connectivity that are influencing loading times and the longer the loading time gets, the more likely you get that reset.
One user tested it out and it seems like the magic loading time is somewhere around 2 minutes where this issue occurs

So yes, deleting GSX might help, but this does not mean that GSX is causing it. You could also delete other addons to get shorter loading times if your server connection is fast enough.

If they had a server problem and resolved it, that would have accounted for a fix with no update.

They said it would be fixed in an upcoming beta build though.

True, but they’ve said a lot of different things over the last three years. :grinning:

no this issue has only been around since the stsrt of the SU14 Beta, and will be fixed ASAP. Probsably the next build.

Same issue as OP - SU14. Confirmed by leaving insider preview, assistance settings load normally. Rejoin and update back to SU14, issue persists.

Assistance Opts resetting were never an issue before SU14 beta ( at least I don’t recall it being discussed before SU14 beta)

Hi,

This is incorrect, I had this issue once during SU12, there have been reports already made in the past.
Thanks

Did you.have it once or on every single startup?

There is indeed an issue that settings get reset with updates. But so far i have not read about an issure, where after an update the settings get rest every single time you start the sim.

Hi,

Again incorrect https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/assistance-settings-resetting/

https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/intermittent-all-assistance-options-automatically-gets-set-to-easy-every-time-you-relaunch-the-sim-or-sometimes-between-flights/

Thanks

Similar but not the same.
Before it was “occasionally”, “sporadically”, etc. According to your link.

Now it is every single time when you start the sim.

So same issue, but very different “quality”.

Hi,

No need to argue over semantics, it’s a similar issue from before that much is clear.

Thanks

Yet again, Incorrect

Before SU14, the Assistance only reset (like many other settings) , the first time running a new SU.

I have never had assistance options reset before SU14 beta, even with every and each new SU.

And even then, only for a few people. I never had assistance options reset before SU14 beta.

Hi,

Just because it didn’t happen to you specifically doesn’t mean it didn’t exist before, in my case it was long after updating to SU12 and completely randomly like I’ve seen others mention.

Either way the problem is similar to this beta and may help the Devs track it down if they go back to how they fixed it before, as per the thread I linked too (long before my time here). The more information they have the better.

Thanks

So another beta build and still no fix for this issue
I was avoiding it but I’m leaving the beta now, can’t stand this for another week. First time I will be leaving a beta.
Then they wonder why there are no beta testers to test the multiplayer fixes, now you know why.

Can confirm, just updated to the latest beta. Bug is still present.

DItto – also had enough – not even any info on why it has not been addressed

Also, First time I will be leaving a beta.

But really “who cares” – certainly not me anymore.

Already left the beta and don’t regret it, faster loading times, much better FPS, no spinning circle and no assistance options bug. Now we’re talking.
