ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

Challenge mode is supposed to be a challenge.

Helicopter aids can be turned on and get a perfect score.

These should be locked out and down to player skill, or they should be funneled into their own category against others using the aids.

  1. do a helicopter based challange mode without aids
  2. try and score as best you can, 1,500,000
  3. see others using aids score above you 1,800,000 plus

For a competitive mode - this makes sense.

No assists for challenges.

I completely agree that the current system is unfair. I fly all my challenges and missions in cockpit view with no assists and a score of about 1,600,000 is my target max score which pales in comparison to current high scores. I tried landing the helicopter with full assists and 3rd person view and achieved 1,750,000 points on my first try. However, it felIt kind of pointless, and personally I prefer to complete challenges with realistic settings.

I think it might be a good idea to place players using maximum assists in the Bronze League and those using no assists in the Diamond League which would create a fairer competitive environment.

Some of thise high scores start to make sense. I never thought about turning on assists for the challenges. Good spot though we somehow need a level playing field.

This is totally unfair and another mistake by the developers who have not taken into account.
This version of the simulator has been gamified so much that those of us who try to fly simulating reality are not only not recognized but are discriminated against, as for example in the weekly challenges.
I understand that they want to open doors to all kinds of experience, but at least they should offer a “pro” mode without aids and another “amateur” one with aids and even with a lower level.

Will not happen, is my guess.

The direction of 2024 is clearly towards casual players. Just look at the “back on track” feature that magically saves you instead of crashing so that we all can be winners.

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.

This is by design due to the level of difficult most players have with flying helicopters without assistences. The assistances have zero direct impact on the scoring.
