AT frequently disengages

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

During flight, especially when cruising, the AT frequently disconnects. I have tried disconnecting my joystick (thinking that it has micro movements), but it continues to happen.

I have tried moving the power levers to ATR, T/O, and MCT, activating the AT, but keeps turning itself off.

I tried vanilla mode and the same thing happens.

By the way, when AT is disabled, it does not produce any sound, and the motors do not experience a significant change in power.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Each flight, the time between disconnections can vary, sometimes it is every 5 minutes after the last disconnection, sometimes after 20 minutes. It is unpredictable.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

  1. Perform a flight

  2. Move the thrust levelers to MCT, ATR or T/O

  3. Activate AT and continue flight; during cruise or climb, AT will frequently deactivate.

There is already a thread on this.

Please contribute your evidence media there:

Also add the info, if you are on an platform different than ps5, so that the devs know whether if it is a platform specific or unspecific issue.

And don’t forget to vote there please. The thread there is also in the feedback logged state and active on the dev’s radar

I’ve discovered something… The AT disconnects when I adjust the power settings with a peripheral (joystick, HOTAS, etc.). Adjusting it manually with the mouse at MCT does register the step and it doesn’t disconnect again (But it’s per power lever)

With a joystick (at least with mine: Thrustmaster), the power levers react without that “stuck” effect at each step (MCT or T/O); that is, it’s linear.

So, in my opinion, a calibration adjustment for the joystick or any power peripheral would be needed with the PC24 for it to react perfectly.

For me on ps5 A/T even disconnects when I completely put the controller out of my hands in a smooth ascent, descent, horizontal flight, curve…. Completely random.

I am not sure, but I guess, i saw a warning in the g5000 of the longitude for a fraction of a second when it disconnected in a flight today. But i saw it only once, because I don’t observe the warning section of the pfd all the time… and sometimes AT disconnects after seconds, sometimes after minutes - thats why I can’t observe the warning section all the time to catch a message that appears only for a fraction of a second in the Cessna Citation Longitude.

Today in my PC 12 NGX, It also disconnected again and again and again and again. Unfortunately the honeywell avionics didn’t show anything apart from the blinking AT-Symbol as it disconnected.

I play only with dualsense controller. So it’s not peripherals as root cause for me on ps5.

In my flight with the citation longitude today i had to re-activate AT 15 times and than gave up… It should be really easy to reproduce. Do a VIP mission with the longitude, try to use the AT, an watch how often you need to reactivate it. You will easily notice it, as the longitude does not stop calling out “autothrottle, autothrottle, autothrottle, autothrottle,…” until you re-activate it.
