Woke up this morning and there was thick fog.
So had to see how it looked in the sim. (lates su14 beta 1.35.21.0)
Local airport, KBWI reports viz 1/16 mile (Real world metar)
SO this is what it looked like in the sim (real weather)
Looks good to me… should I take off IFR ?? 
I flew from KLGA up to KBOS yesterday and the live weather was great - varied cloud layers closlely matching the metar, icing was enountered. I had zero complaints.
Well, I did take off – Hmmm ATC let me, despite not filing IFR. Now I need to get down again – after trying to file IFR in the air !!
You’re an old hand at IFR though, right? Look at all those lovely instruments you have.
Yes, its all these new Green Controllers, straight out of High School, with a few weeks of “on the job training”, that scares me more !!
Well, as predicted, ATC really messed up, but with the fog lifting , now 1/4 mile, landed back at KBWI safely , despite a few “disagreements” with the Approach controller – so now I have to make a phone call after I park the plane !!!
Thankfully there is PE ( and Vatsim) , at least till 2024, and hopefully a better more reliable MSFS ATC.
But it is slowly getting better
