Brief description of the issue:

TTS mispronounces Nadi, Fiji. While it looks like it should be pronounced “Nadi”, it is really pronounced like “Nohndi”.
Here is a Fiji guide telling you how to pronounce Nadi:

“a” is “ah” as in father, but shorter. The correct pronunciation of Nadi, is closer to “Nahn-di” than “Nan-di”.

Here is a video with the pronunciation.

One way to fix this is to modify the applicable .locPak files as follows (do not write “Nahndi”: I’ve already tried it and the TTS sounds very nasal):

Line Current Value Suggested Value
ATCCOM.AGENT_NAME NADI OCEANIC FIR.0.tts Nadi Nohndi
ATCCOM.AGENT_NAME NADI OCEANIC.0.tts Nadi Nohndi
ATCCOM.AGENT_NAME NADI.0.tts Nadi Nohndi
ATCCOM.AIRPORT NFFN.0.tts Nadi Nohndi

Please see the Screenshots section for how this sounds with the suggested changes.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

  1. Start Microsoft Flight Simulator.
  2. In the World Map, start a flight at NFFN. In the videos, above, I start cold and dark so that I can talk to Nadi Ground.
