ATC Callsign Workaround

I couldn’t find that anyone else had posted this tip, so I thought I’d mention this workaround that I found to help FS ATC pronounce YOUR call-sign correctly.

As an example, the call-sign Silver 93 should be pronounced “Silver ninety three” and not “Silver niner three”. By using the available fields in the following way, you can get ATC to pronounce your call-sign correctly.

Use the call-sign and the flight number fields together to produce a realistic sounding call-sign as seen below. *This doesn’t work in all cases, for example, when your call-sign ends with a zero, but this works for many airline call-signs, at least in the US.

I’d be happy if I could get air traffic to use my callsign - rather than my tail number

On a similar case, if ATC will not accept your call sign (for instance, in FS20, it will not accept Allegiant for me), try a phonetic spelling instead. In my case Aleejunt works when Allegiant will not. In FS24 ATC seems to know what Allegiant is and accepts it as a valid call sign.
