I was on an IFR flight to Nuuk Greenland. About 35 miles out from BGGH, ATC abruptly cancelled IFR and told me to continue on VFR while the airport was IFR. From what I understand, where you normally get cleared and handed off to ATC, you should switch over to CTAF and announce your approach procedure.
I’ve actually had several odd IFR problems flying around in northern Canda as well.
Is there something wrong with this region or is it some kind of bugginess with un-towered airports?
