The ability to have a written copy of ATC instructions on screen can be extremely useful, especially when they relate to complex issues such as taxiing at large airports or detailed approach or departure clearances. The effect is complicated at busy ATC units when there are multiple aircraft on frequency, and your own instructions are quickly moved upward in a growing list and difficult to retrieve by scrolling. My suggestion would be for users to have the option to limit the ATC Dialog system to only display written instructions related to your own aircraft, and for only those to be kept in the dialog record box. This would allow the dialog box to be kept far smaller, and still be usefully interrogated when required. This would also reflect the newer systems being installed in aircraft cockpits which display written clearances to individual aircraft. Of course ATC instructions to other aircraft would still be heard, as is the case in real life, to enable situational awareness.
