This is happening a lot since SU5. As a techy I already know this is an issue with the Azure implementation. Anyone else seeing this?
Yes, I have experienced this issue a couple times as well.
Actually in the same general LA area as well.
Nope. IFR Flight plan filed in SIMBRIEF and given clearance by LA Clearance Delivery as filed. If you study the screen shot you’ll see I’m answering ATC, via IA Bot, but I hear nothing and and receiving no text instructions from ATC. That’s the issue.
I’m sorry but you are wrong. You can clearly see in the atc windows that there is interaction, the atc is just bugged.
See this topic where others describe the same issue: Cannot hear ATC instructions and other aircraft - #15 by Ircghost9965
My friend, you are missing the point I’m making. I’m on an IFR flight from KLAX to KSEA in the A320. I hear NO ATC sounds at all. I receive no ATC text in the window at all. The only reason you see text say “You: Delta 821” is because I turned on the Flight Assistance and he’s responding to ATC commands I can’t see or hear. It’s broke! I’m a real world pilot and don’t need your video to tell me this is broke!
Seriously (or not so seriously) Yes, the issue is that you do not have MSFS options configured correctly, whereas, I do !!!
I’ve had this issue before and have posted more than one thread about it. Not had any reply. I posted two bug reports on it and both of them were closed as “resolved”.
So sadly, I don’t have an answer but I do sympathise. I have frequent situations where either ATC disappears or pilot. It seems random. I don’t use azure voices active and use the windows OS voices instead.
So I’ll be watching your post also to see if there will be anyone else with hints. I thought it was just me.

Noticed this also.
In addition if I switch to AI radios my co pilot responds to unseen unheard ATC messages . Sorry N6722C, but this is clearly a bug. It works properly for a portion of most flights then just doesn’t.
Haven’t tried that. Will do! I haven’t fired up MSFS for a while, maybe it’s a good excuse to do so!!

That’s the only warning this thread is getting.
I just did a flight (latest Dev build of FBW) and had this exact thing happen to me…ATC wasn’t communicating (no sound or text in the ATC window), but the Ai assist was managing COMS and it was doing what your screen shots shows - responding to ATC.
Haven’t seen this happen before.
I had it twice on Miami/Cancun and back today.
I had this happen to me a few days ago. I was about 2 hours into a 4 hour flight. Ruined the flight so switched off and turned PC off!
Before the flight when you experienced this problem, did you fly the PMDG DC6 - anytime before?
If so, make sure you increase the sound volume button of your radio, this is a known issue when using the DC6 flight engineer.
If that were the case, wouldn’t ATC’s comments still show up in the window?
Or do they not if the volume is turned off?
Bearing in mind the thread’s title, it would’ve been a lot funnier if no one had replied to it.
Just sayin’…
I can confirm this bug. Usually I switch on the AI to respond to ATC. If i ask the ATC to the direction to the airport, there is no more sound from ATC and also no text from ATC but the AI responds!
I have the same problem; usually starts about 1/2-2/3 of the way to destination. I have my AI Co Pilot configured to deal with radio communications only. At the point the bug takes over my co pilot is responding to things I neither hear or see if I have the ATC window open.
Having this bug as well. IFR flight in CJ4. Audio set to offline instead of Azure.
This happened to me last night , left EGKK as atc responding then silence all the way through the flight
Exactly the same as your screenshot, I was replying via AI co pilot so it is definitely a bug
Funny thing is it only happens now and again which is very strange
