Has anyone else seen a problem where the ATC menu only contains the [GROUND SERVICES] option, which leads to a [GO BACK TO CLEARANCE] option? – and that’s all there is. I’m not running in Dev mode and removed everything from my Community folder. I typically start by setting up an IFR flight and startup cold & dark from a parked position. I power up the airplane, which activates the ATC menu with the two choices mentioned, but it’s not usable.
The only thing I can think of is that I (again) got bit by the problem where the in-game installer ran before the Store (outer) installer actually updated to 1.15.7.0. I went back and updated the outer installer. And so basically ended up running the install steps in reverse order. Perhaps something got messed up on the install.
UPDATE: 2021-04-15: The remainder of the thread speaks to a more common problem involving grayed out options that others are seeing. Good news is there’s a workaround and so keep reading if you’re running into that. In terms of the original problem reported here, there is another interesting aspect where I get no radio communications whatsoever: COM or NAV. In the ATC window, COM reports as ‘not in use’. It’s as if there’s a hidden, magic radio communications switch that has been turned off. I tried switching to Dev mode to see if that would make any difference, but to no avail. Next step is to do a full reinstall.
UPDATE: 2021-04-16. Phew! Reinstall resolved my issue; though unfortunate it came to that
Totally agree, ATC is totally wrecked since last update.
If you get the clearance for your IFR ( if the ATC is not stuck) it can be stuck after with options greyed out and no possibility to contact ground.
And if you can contact ground it can be stuck when you need the clearance for take-off with no option at all in the ATC menu.
In each case the only option available was the ATIS and after take off ( wihout clearance but the ATC didn’t told me i wasn’t cleared for take off ) the option to ask clearance for my IFR re appeared…
I ran the store update before launching the game and if you launch the game before updating the store installer it tells you to update in the store and closes the game.
I rather think they wrote bad code or something went wrong when compiling the update

While waiting for a fix, I solved the ATC problem, it seems that it comes from the AZURE online features, go to the simulator sound options, then to text-to-speech settings and select Windows offline, and ATC works normally again. temporary solution pending.
Remember to install the English / United States language if necessary from windows.

So AZURE had an ischemic stroke…
Thanks for the solution , i’ll give it a try after work.
ok, tell me if that also solved your ATC problem
No ATIS here either after the patch.

Thanks for your good advice ! All is working normally with atc set on windows offline.
Have a good day
I’m a huge fan of pilot2ATC. If the default ATC is elementary school, pilot2ATC is at college level. It’s not free but it’s worth it. My opinion, anyway.
Every opinion have to be considered , i’ll take a look at that

One question: Before applying the World IV update, did you have the ATC MOD with European phraseology installed? In my case I had it, and it may be that it has something to do with it. Or not…
It is to seek reasons for what happened …
