ATC forcing IFR flight when filing VFR in free flight

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
When filing for a direct vfr flight with preset weather conditions, once I load the flight in, it automatically sets me up with IFR with ATC

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:

I was flying the Titan 404

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

1.I set the weather to day time with few clouds
2.I set a direct flight from KLEX to KLOU in VFR
3.I load into the free flight and the pilot requests IFR clearance.

All free flights default to IFR with ATC

same thing on PC, create flight plan set to VFR, file flight plan, tune com radio, get Request IFR clearance.

Had the exact same problem last night with other aircraft. May be noted flight started from a controlled airport.

• When I create a flight plan in either Free Flight, or in Career, IFR is automatically selected. I can successfully choose VFR, but when in the sim, it goes back to IFR. I had an issue where it wouldn’t cancel. Cancelling seems to work when you get the option to do so on the ground.
Somebody mentioned it could be because AI Radio Communications (ATC) in Assistants is switched on, but I have the issue with or without it selected.
Doesn’t matter which aircraft I fly, the flight plan always starts in IFR. Weather has no effect.

Peripherals are Xbox controller, keyboard and mouse.

• Same here. I create a vfr flight plan, then when I’m loaded into free flight I’m only getting IFR option in the comm’s window.

• Same issue. Program the EFB for VFR flight. Hit the “start flight” button and I am forced back into IFR and cannot cancel it through ATC options. However, this seems to be random and intermittent; all worked fine for a few weeks, then the issue returns. This is on PC.

Yes.

IFR is always forced. When the ATC communication is set to automatic, cancelling IFR is not possible. The copilot will automatically ask for IFR clearance immediately after cancelling IFR, and the ATC will give completely wrong instructions. It’s not possible to fly VFR with ATC.

Description of the issue: The EFB keeps changing my VFR flight plans to IFR. It also deletes waypoints if I change departure/arrival patterns.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue: All non-IFR aircraft, i.e. vintage, warbirds, STOL, GA

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Closed sim.
  2. Tried different aircraft and same aircraft
  3. Checked EFB VFR setting MANY TIMES to make sure accurately selected
  4. As soon as I depart, changes back to IFR!

What peripherals are you using, if relevant: Likely not relevant, but Thrustmaster stick, Honeycomb Bravo throttle quadrant, Logitech rudder pedals.

[PC, MSFS 2020 Only] Are you using DX11 or DX12?

[PC Only] What GPU (Graphics Card) do you use? NVIDIA 3080 TI

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
Playing on Xbox. When doing a flight plan and selecting VFR it will keep it until you enter the cockpit and then automatically switch it back to IFR. The flight then becomes IFR. It doesn’t matter how many times I send the flight plan information to ATC.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
All aircraft I’ve played with (Pilatus, Boeing, Cessna) - doesn’t seem to be linked to the aircraft

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

1.In career mode, select missions, select Freelancer, pick a mission (I use Cargo)
2.Open EFB, select Flight Details and change Flight Rules from IFR to VFR.
3.Go to Route, Click on SEND and then SEND TO ATC (doesn’t seem to matter if you send it to avionics.
4. Once the mission starts, and while outside the aircraft, open EFB. Open Flight Details. It shows VFR. Enter the plane. It changes to IFR

Why does this not yet have the “bug-logged” or “feedback-logged” tags yet? I won’t fly fs2024 again until this is fixed. This is the #1 problem in fs24 keeping me on fs20.
