I actually fly from Christchurch to Auckland and while on ground at first i did not got a help for taxiway but since the airport is quite small i made it on my own. And then after take off (they gave me the short rwy but dont know why) suddenly atc stopped. Now i try revive atc since i will need it for landing. What can i do?
I fly with an A319
Workaround: If you’re using Azure Online Text-To-Speech (TTS) for ATC, consider switching to Offline. It uses your loca Windows voices pack (less variety) but very reliable since it literally cannot drop out. It will always be available.
During flight? If they dont speak its just annoying but now there is even no text.
I cannot switch from azure to offline
I’m not sure I understand - why can’t you switch to Offline?
Dont know why. Probably cause i am fliying at the moment.
After trying again i could switch to offline but it did not solve the problem. There is still no atc. Not spoken nor written.
You can change it at any time - Go to General-Options-Sound and change it to Offline. No need to stop flying or restart the flight.
When i tried first i could not change it. Then after a minute it worked out but the atc still did not work. No text messages i mean.
Since Auckland is nearby what can i do? Landing without atc like flight simulator in 1982?
Seems like a good opportunity to brush up on lost comms procedures.
And they would be?
For the US, you can find the IFR lost comms procedure in the AIM. AIM 6-4-1
I can’t speak for other parts of the world, but I wouldn’t think they would be much different.
Do they exist in german language too?
I’m sure they do but I’ll let someone with more knowledge of European flight operations jump in with a possible link. If I find a reference, I will post it.
