Thanks to @NixonRedgrave, I was informed that when changing the language to EN-US the issue was resolved…

The issue was also mentioned in another topic during SU13 beta testing. I was not aware of that.

It’s still a bug though, but at least we have a workaround.

Since the last update, the ATC voice is incomprehensible; it’s a mix of French and English.

Yes, with French language messed up with English

This is a workaround, not a solution. Asobo should either correctly translate everything and use the correct language for text to speech, or simply use English in everything. I’d prefer the first option.

And yes, it’s messed here too.

ATC mix English and Swedish too. It also switch numbers with letters. ā€œDescend and maintain fjorton tusen f o tā€ Fjorton tusen is Swedish for fourteen thousand. It should be ā€œDescend and maintain 14000 feetā€. Another example is ā€œcontact tower on ttd decimal rdā€ .
I have recordings with examples but it seems that I’m not allowed to upload them here.

Guys this software solves the problem in seconds! Thanks Amg9Chat!

same problem with french mixed to english

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

In German (just another example) we have the number three having spelled out as ā€œBaumā€ (tree) - So while in the English base lockPak, items are listed phonetically correct, putting them through a presumably automated translation doesn’t work.
What’s additionally worse is that German is being pronounced with an English accent - So I’ll once again resort to FixATC to swap it to English and/or go through the files on my own.

Same pronunciation issue in French - The text is well pronounced in English, but the numbers are pronounced in a strange French/English mixture which is … ridiculous and somehow not understandable. For example in the text (which should stay in English) the number of feet is written as : 15000 Pi (Pi is the beginning of Pied on French which is the translation of Feet)

I have the same problem but with the Spanish translations. When ATC mentions numbers, some figures are said in English and others in Spanish even in german…

Same problem here (Spain)

Maybe, the dictionary approach is totally misleading in ATC? Such as the examples above, which result in simple one to one transfers from a given dictionay for each language does not reflect the special behavior of ATC,
It is obvious, that ā€žThreeā€œ spells as ā€žTreeā€œ in German results in ā€žBaumā€œ, which is not the intention, when you need to hear ā€žDreiā€œ.
Moreover spelling ā€žX-Rayā€œ as ā€žRƶntgenā€œ results from a correct dictionary, which does not reflect, that the proper word should also start with an ā€žXā€œ at the beginning. Maybe it would be better, to stay with straight English according to the ICAO spelling alphabet (NATO phonetic alphabet - Wikipedia) at all ATC messages. Otherwise there would be a lot of national spelling tables to choose from. Using a translational dictionary is IMHO the completely wrongest approach ever.

Hi. Problem still present with the new update released yesterday.

Given that it was a WU, not an SU, that’s hardly surprising. Only in rare cases are these files updated. And there were MANY SU’s until the German LocPak was fixed the last time - ā€œmā€ instead of ā€œMā€, ā€œOā€ instead of ā€œEā€ā€¦

This is fixed in the SU14 Beta, which releases to retail in early December.
