ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

ATC instructs to exit the runway when able. Then I receive a penalty for entering taxiway after being instructed to do so.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
C172 possibly others as its an ATC command

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Various times, also sometimes the enter button on keyboard does not register or sometimes I get not landing ATC instruction or finals ATC instruction as if its delayed by the time I land.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. On final to Ft Lauderdale Florida
  2. Landed aircraft, got told to exit runway
  3. Followed blue arrows to the hold short
  4. After exiting runway, receive the penalty for leaving it!

This is just the beautiful and amazing ATC that MS/Asobo has created. It’s terrible. Nothing you did wrong and probably won’t be fixed any time in the next 2 years.

Hey there

Yep - penalties are well and truly broken right now and unfortunately Asobo have bigger fish to fry. I can’t see career mode getting much attention until after SU1.

  • Flaps overspeed warnings at 0kts (or when within operational limits)
  • Overflying runway without ATC
  • Encroaching on a taxiway / runway without instruction
  • Speed limits penalties when well under 20kts

There are a bunch of workarounds for this if you want to protect your 100% ratings, though often times the penalties don’t even apply to your overall score anyway. I got about 20 during my flight last night and none of them even applied and I got a 100% bonus.

I hate when the Return button won’t work sometimes but you still get a comms penalty for not using the radio.

I had an issue where I was going to the hold short after landing and right before I got to the box it disappeared and gave me an infraction for not contacting ATC

I’ve started just opening the ATC panel when the return button doesn’t work and you can still contact ATC and avoid the penalty

Nice and I didn’t know that, so a possible workaround though i would probably need to pause on finals if it happens again

I still get this one alot. I’ll be just about to enter the “hold short” box and the game will suddenly move the box to the other end of the airport and I get hit with “entering taxi way without notice”

Yeah its highly frustrating, even if you manually request taxi to parking before leaving runway you still get dinged because you weren’t in the hold short box when you did it.

I think the basic issue is that in career mode there is a pre-programmed hold-short that may not be the proper one to use (i.e., it’s behind you or way down at the end of the runway). The solution IMO is to allow any taxiway/intersection for exiting the runway to count as “hold short.”

yeah just got the ding here’s your penalty for skipping to takeoff, my hold short was on the actual runway!?!

Hello.
In Career Mode and Flight Seeing Mission, Mission Objectives instructs for me to taxi to “Hold Short”.

However, the Hold Short box is superimposed over the Runway.

I inch along till the propeller is just over the Hold Short box border , and THEN i get hit with a “Runway Infringement” message. With the Hold Short box still blue, and the Mission Objective of Hold Short incomplete.

OK, Ive read that the ATC has some “issues”.

Upon takeoff, I’m instructed to fly to “550 feet”. but as I’m proceeding to the target altitude, I then get a “Altitude Infringement” at 370’ (with Ground level of 71 feet…)

Often, I also get “Speed Infringements” along the way. There seems to be no explanation whether I’m going too fast or slow. Indeed, I’ve gotten a "Speed Infringement"at 50 knots when I pass over the threshold (C172).

I’d appreciate it if the simulator had some consistency in its messages As in, at least tell me why I’m getting a “Speed Infringement” …ie.. “Too Fast” or “Too Slow”.

Cause its difficult to improve if I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
