ATC Unresponsive to IFR Clearance Request, Skipping to Taxi Damages 737

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: 737 Career mode flight, Montreal to Nice. Boarding and all preflight checklists completed. I paused about 5 minutes prior to pulling the trigger on the requesting IFR clearance step because I have heard that should be done just prior to taxi. The ATC system never responds, even when I pull up the comms menu and attempt to request it via option 2 from Ground. With boarding complete, I have no option other than to skip to taxi in order to complete the mission, which results in a crash and destroys my landing gear.

The error displayed, like most errors in this POS, claims all boarding steps were not complete, and that’s why my plane was trashed. I could not complete that one step of IFR clearance.

The worst thing about this game is how frequently it fails to deliver on its promises and severely punishes users for the massive trove of bugs that lie within.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)? Every time on this mission and others from numerous other airports.

Not sure if related, but i reported a bug that also involved a problem with using the Comms menu before departure. Different scenario, but common thread.

In my case ended up with a mission failure as soon as I started the takeoff roll.

It seems to happen if you hit enter before letting ATC finish responding to the IFR request.

Finally got a couple screenshots of this at yet another failed mission airport. Shows the “stuck waypoint” and the communications menu that doesn’t let you do anything. Plane is parked where the blue chevrons told me to taxi, though there were no boxes to hold short.

No hold short, no options to re-engage with the mission. Just chevrons of wasted doom. Just like every other airport, asking to taxi just sends me to general aviation where I sit until I just shut off the computer since there’s no acknowledgment that I landed safely and completed the mission.

MSFS team owes me about 200k credits at this point. BS.

Update: After losing my s*** and deciding to do an unauthorized take off again from the taxiway facing the direction from which I came, I did a circle and landed again once more after “scooping” the supposedly missed waypoint, and it gave me the hold short and parking boxes and the mission was saved.

Well, needless to say my reputation went to “D” but at least I got paid.

Lesson: Buy extra fuel so you can deal with this stupidity.

Same issue as above. Followed all prompts to load pax, cargo, and catering. Started APU before pushback. Pushed back and got engine start clearance. The engines would not turn over and the APU turned off when I did Ctrl-E. After pushback, ground power is not available to tried to skip to taxi. Mission crashed immediately, giving me a huge hit to my reputation and destroyed the landing gear which cost about a million to fix. Repeated one more time but did skip to taxi right at the beginning before loading passengers or anything. Same results.

• exactly how the previous user stated. This career flight is to Doha. Try to request IFR clearance and the pilots never talks and ATC never talks.
