Brief description of the issue:
The ECL has many inaccuracies, I think its missing some of the “when’s” (marked with dots) and “if’s” (marked with squares), abnormal / emergency checklists shouldn’t be outlined in the middle either.
The order of checklists is wrong, it should be:
- Emergency (red)
- Normal (white)
- Abnormal (amber)
So you shouldn’t have to scroll through a whole list of abnormals to get to the normal checklist (sorry for the quality):
An example of the style (this checklist has an error in it which has since been fixed by ATR (ADC should be AHRS), it is the only picture I could find on my phone quick enough).
In any case, it doesn’t look like this:
Another direct comparison with something I found in a dev update:
And this should be the logic for normal checklist triggers:
FINAL COCKPIT PREPARATION 1/2:
- External power or engine 2 running (in hotel mode or not)
- On ground
- Engine 1 not running
- Parking brake engaged since 3 seconds.
FINAL COCKPIT PREPARATION 2/2
- After FINAL COCKPIT PREPARATION 1/2 completed
BEFORE PROPELLER ROTATION
- After FINAL COCKPIT PREPARATION 2/2 completed.
BEFORE TAXI
- Aircraft on ground
- Engine 2 running
- All doors closed
- CL2 set to AUTO
(I know from experience that this is not correct, both condition lever need to be in AUTO, so both engines running, that is why you need to pull this one up manually when taxiing out on one engine.)
TAXI CHECKLIST
- BEFORE TAXI checklist completed
- Parking brake released
BEFORE TAKE-OFF CHECKLIST
- TAXI checklist completed
- Both engines running
- Take-off config test completed
AFTER TAKE-OFF CHECKLIST
- Both engines running
- Weight off wheels or in flight when:
- PWR MGT in TO and GA button pressed, or
- PWR MGT in TO and PL1 and 2 above the notch
DESCENT CHECKLIST
- Aircraft in flight
- Current altitude above selected altitude
- Vertical speed exceeding -300 ft/min
- Landing gear commanded up
- FMS 1 or 2 in descent phase, or,
- FMS 1 or 2 in approach phase
APPROACH CHECKLIST
- DESCENT CHECKLIST completed
Actually if you select RCL when the DESCENT CHECKLIST pops-up, the APPROACH checklist is already available below the DESCENT CHECKLIST so not 100% correct that completing the DESCENT checklist is a requirement.
BEFORE LANDING CHECKLIST
- Aircraft in flight
- FMS 1 or 2 approach phase for 15 seconds, or
- Landing gear is down and
- Radio altitude is above landing threshold altitude and
- Vertical speed exceeding -300 ft/min
AFTER LANDING
- Aircraft on ground
- IAS < 40 kts
PARKING CHECKLIST
- AFTER LANDING checklist completed
- Parking brake set
LEAVING AIRCRAFT CHECKLIST
- After PARKING CHECKLIST there is an option for next sector or shutting down the aircraft.
I also noticed some wrong abnormal, emergency checklist triggers, I will keep updating this thread. During ATPCS test for example, the ENGINE FAILURE AT TAKE-OFF checklist should not be triggered, should be ENGINE OUT ON GROUND (or whatever the checklist title is exactly).
