ATR 42/72 Hotel Mode – Cabin Lights and Prop Brake Shutdown Issues

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
On the ATR 42/72 in MSFS 2024, after completing a flight and landing, when switching the aircraft into Hotel Mode, the MIN CAB LT and backlight (MIP/PED & OVHD) unexpectedly turn off after a few minutes. At the same time, the flashlight automatically turns on. The lights cannot be turned back on manually.

When connecting the GPU at this stage, nothing happens initially. Attempting to shut down the turbine in Hotel Mode by moving the condition lever to OFF does not work—the turbine keeps running unless the prop brake is released first. This is unusual, since the turbine should be able to shut down with the prop brake engaged. Once the prop brake is released, the turbine stops, GPU power takes over, and the cockpit lights return. However, after a few minutes they turn off again and cannot be re‑enabled, even with GPU power connected.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you?
