So I’ve been having a lot of problems with my approaches in the ATR. I know I’m sequencing things wrong but basically I very often find myself coming in too hot and not decelerating fast enough. No that isn’t the point of this post, but as a result of this I go missed.
My problem is what the heck do I do on the MCDU to reset for another approach? After I’ve gone missed, the AP flies the missed approach procedure but the approach information is all gone from the FMS.

I don’t know if it is sop but after MAP (missed approach procedure) I fly direct-to IAF then fly the approach course back to FAF. Look on the chart for the name of the IAF waypoint. IRL I would imagine ATC would give you a bunch of vectors based on air traffic, but I just head back to IAF. If the turning angle is extreme 90° or more when trying to line up the course back to FAF, then make sure to slow way down to turn faster, switch to heading mode and start the turn a couple nm before you reach IAF.
Thank you for that, but flying the approach again by hand isn’t really my problem. I want to re-enter it into the MCDU so I can make a second attempt at a “normal” approach with the AP./VNAV/ILS etc for practice, but I can’t figure out how to get the arrival and approach back in there.
You would have to enter a new flight plan (again) and then select your arrival and approach again, then DTO to the specific waypoint while in holding at MAP. You can also try importing it again from efb/simbrief.
You could always use the secondary flight plan in the MCDU for this.
Once you’ve entered your fligh plan on the ground, copy it to secondary. After flying your missed approach simply copy your secondary back again, activate the leg to IAF, and fly the approach again.
