ISSUE DESCRIPTION
When selecting a lower altitude (below current altitude) while in the climb or a higher altitude (above current altitude) during descent, the ALT* and ALT mode should not activate. Upon reselecting IAS mode, the aircraft does not allow diverging from the selected altitude, this is incorrect behavior.
On the real aircraft, when changing the selected altitude on the FGCP, the aircraft continues to climb or descent in whatever mode it is in. When you stop adjusting the altitude knob, it takes a few seconds before ALT SEL arms (blue). Essentially, it ignores the selected altitude until you are done setting it + a few seconds.
The aircraft should not level-off when diverging from the selected altitude. In such case the aircraft continues to do whatever it is doing, in whatever mode it is in. When diverging from the selected altitude, the ALT SEL simply doesn’t arm.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
Always.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
During climb, select a new altitude below the current altitude.
During descent, select a new altitude above the current altitude.
Observe ALT or ALT* activating when the selected altitude passes current altitude.
Upon reselecting IAS, the aircraft does not allow to diverge from the selected altitude, it will level-off rather than follow the IAS. VS mode does allow diverging from the selected altitude.
YOUR SETTINGS
Not relevant.
MEDIA
When the selected altitude passes through the current altitude ALT mode activates, this is incorrect, the ALT SEL doesn’t arm until you are done adjusting it + a few seconds.
When the selected altitude is below the current altitude while in IAS mode, the aircraft levels-off and speed increases. It does not allow to diverge from the selected altitude which is incorrect.
