ATR Gear lever can be moved on Ground

 Thank you for using the Bug section, using templates provided will greatly help the team reproducing the issue and ease the process of fixing it.

Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it?

No

Have you disabled/removed all your mods and addons?

N/A

Which aircraft are you reporting an issue about? (Please also add the proper tag for it)

ATR 42-600/72-600

Brief description of the issue:

While on the ground, the Gear lever can be moved to the up position with the keybind.
Apparently that is just a feature of the ATR.
Setting Takeoff Power will not cause a Takeoff config alarm with gear lever up.
This is especially dangerous during takeoff, because as soon as the weight is off the wheels the gear will fold up and if for whatever reason the plane touches the runway again, it will no longer be able to takeoff as the energy loss from the impact will be too high.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Load Plane.
Use Keybind for Gear lever
Observer gear lever moving up.
Set Takeoff power for Takeoff roll.
Observe no Takeoff config alarm.

PC specs and/or peripheral set up if relevant:

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:

ATR72-600 Landing Gear Control Lever Test On Ground - YouTube would appear to suggest that the landing gear lever can be moved to the up position, when the aircraft is on the ground, although that act should be greeted with a set of 3 pretty obvious warning lights.

I have yet to test this out, but it might be worth you doing so, to confirm those warning lights are displayed in the MSFS version. If not, then that would be where an actual bug lies.

Well, in that case, the bug changes to:
Cannot move Gear lever up with the clickspot, but with the keybind only.

I’ve just fired up my sim PC and checked this out.

It would appear that the devs have gone for more of a ‘disable the lever’ option, rather than the more realistic ‘allow it to happen, but give a warning’ approach. If you look closely at the unlit warning lights above the “three greens” indicator lights, the “IDLE” warnings that appear in the RL video, would not appear to be present.

I could only move the gear lever up, as you say, via a control mapping, as the mouse had been apparently prevented from doing so. The mouse can be used to drop the gear lever, once you have managed to raise it, but not to raise it.

On the real aircraft, the gear lever is locked down when there is weight on wheels. So the lever can not physically move, there isn’t even an override for it should it remain latched after take-off.

On ground the lever can obviously be moved up when the aircraft is on jacks (weight off wheels) or the weight on wheels state can be overriden via a switch on the maintenance panel.

It is not part of the take-off configuration warning because it shouldn’t be possible to move the gear lever in the first place.
